Touch Pack for Windows 7
Well you’ve already heard about Microsoft Surface and you’ve seen several demos a million times, I’m sure. But there are some good news about it, Microsoft it’s announcing the Windows 7 Touch Pack.
Finally there are special touch-applications built by Microsoft as optional features to the operating system. It will contain six applications and games dedicated only for touching capabilities with Windows 7. Here’s a brief description of each:
Microsoft Surface Globe
Using Virtual Earth 3D you will have a 3D version of the world where you touch and navigate across different regions and places, using different perspectives as well.
Microsoft Surface Collage!
The image browser and editor for your touch screen.
Microsoft Surface Lagoon
Screensaver where you can interact with the objects in motio based in natural environments.
Microsoft Blackboard
This is my favorite one. Puzzle game of physics using several type of objects achieving a cool interaction with the screen.
Microsoft Rebound
Another game using a electrified court and moving around the balls in the field using your fingers.
Microsoft Garden Pond
One pond dedicated only for you to play with origami objects. Interact with the screen by making ripples in the water and move around the objects.
Seems that these features will be distributed by OEM partners that will include their hardware with the operating system and the applications and games. But Microsoft is going to wait about some feedback about it and evaluates other possibilities for distribution, using maybe a Plus! or Feature Pack.
