The Music Site That Actually Helps Unsigned Artists Do Something Worthwhile, RouteNote
RouteNote the company in which I am currently CEO and co-founder will be launching in 2008 and I wanted to give all my readers of Crenk the inside on what RouteNote can do.
RouteNote is a new music licensing and distribution company that will be launching in the first quarter of 2008. RouteNote aims to help all artists to distribute and license their music with easy. It doesnt matter if you are a large record label, independent label or an unsigned artist, because RouteNote will be able to help every type of artist.
The site has two key services, distribution and licensing. Within the distribution aspect artists or labels will be able to sign up and select from our many retail partners and be able to distribute their music to some of the worlds largest music stores. These partners already include, Imeem, eMusic and Limewire. While at the same time artists will also have a choice to license their music for TV, radio, games, etc, by using the RouteNote platform. Licensing your music with RouteNote will save the artists or labels lots of headaches to do with copyrights, platforms and payments.
All of these services will be done on a non-exclusive basis and RouteNote will only take a small percentage of what is actually sold by the artist. Therefore, no upfront fees and the band will always have a positive cashflow.
Finally, since RouteNote will be offering market leading prices with relevance to Licensing fees, we hope that our platform will become the trust platform for many production companies and other such companies who need to license music for either, TV, radio, games, films and more.
If you want to get one of first invites to use the RouteNote service then please sign up to our private beta, it can be found here. We look forward to provide a service that will actually help artists!
Disclosure: I am currently CEO and co-founder of RouteNote.
