More than 2.5 million Muslims travel to the annual Islamic ritual of the Hajj on November 5, in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. Google has decided to allow people to watch the pilgrimage live on YouTube.

The stream will be live on Saturday, November 5 at http://www.youtube.com/hajjlive.

The Hajj represents one of the five pillars of Islam; each muslim is expected to make the pilgrimage once in their lifetime. It will be interesting to see if they do the same for the other 5.

YouTube has a huge database of music clips of all imaginable genres and types. It’s a great source of inspiration – we just need more tools to enjoy it.

The following two tools will add a lot of fun to your YouTube music-listening experience: they will let you endlessly listen to your favorite music genres.

Zebralizer

Zebralizer is YouTube-powered online tool that will play your music as long as you want it to. It won’t work on Internet Explorer, nor will it work on FireFox if you are on Mac. Google Chrome has been the best option to use the tool so far.

The site has a fun search option that will suggest to you results while you are typing:

Once the results are loaded, music will start playing immediately.

While listening, you can browse through the search results to add any clip to the play list. There’s also a “radio” button that will instantly create a play list from the similar music clips to the one currently running.

You can even load the lyrics next to the current song and start singing:

The built-in player controls let you play the music louder, jump to the next track, watch the video in the full-screen mode and shuffle your current play list.

Jukesy

Jukesy is a fun, yet not widely-known web-based app that allows you to enjoy an endless sit-back-and-listen YouTube experience.

To select the genre, you can browse through the vast selection of popular tags (anything from “art rock” to “hip hop” can be found there) or use the search option.

Once the genre is chosen, you can enjoy an endless video and music stream: Just keep the tab open and keep working or browsing the web – the music of your preferred genre will play until you stop it.

The built-in player controls let you easily adjust the volume, toggle the full-screen view or repeat your favorite song.

That’s a great music discovery tool: With its vast search capabilities, you are most likely to come across a new song or band that will become your favorite one. Besides, the tool offers plenty of information about genres and bands (powered by Last.fm).

You can continue searching for music, while the current clip keeps playing. You can add a new clip to the play list or queue video clips right from the search results (without interrupting your current music stream).

Onlive is a service that provides games to you instantly. Just like when you watch a video on YouTube well Onlive is the same thing and is just as quick. Onlive streams games to you and you get to play them instantly. They currently have 100 games and more coming. Also just like xbox live there are accounts, friends, and even voice chat but if that isn’t enough Onlive 1up xbox live and added an Arena the Arena is a place where you can watch anyone play any game. You can watch your friends or before you buy a game you can watch someone else play it and can Cheer them on with the cheer button or Jeer them (the opposite of Cheer) with the Jeer button.

One of the best things about onlive is that when a new game comes out you get it instantly. Instead of going to the store and buying it you preorder the game on onlive and at 12:00 you can start playing. They have alot of promo codes going on too. Basically if you preorder this new game you get a micro console. O’ Wait I forgot to mention that you can play Onlive on there own consle which is about the size of a glasses case, or you can play on your computer or on your ipad. They are also making controllers that will work with the ipad and computer so you have a controller to use. Now the bad part; if you Internet speed is below 3-5 the games will be laggy and it will be really hard to play but that about the only bad part. So as long as you have a really fast Internet speed you are fine. Now one of my favorite things about Onlive is there is no need to update a game. If a game is updated they update it and you never even know there was an update. As for games go they have a couple of good games and are coming out with alot more. They have Home front out which is really great because they offer 32 players in one game. Overall its a good thing to have and all the games have demos so even if you just try Onlive you will see its worth it.

The key Hollywood studios have been searching for a competitor to iTunes that they can push and it seems as though YouTube is that key competitor.

It is expected that the new movies on-demand service could launch as soon as this week, but I would expect it in a few weeks time. Studios that have already signed include Sony Pictures, Warner Brothers and Universal. So far only Paramount, Fox and Disney havent joined the service, but Im sure after a while they will follow (except Disney, who has Steve Jobs as the major shareholder).

For those who actually care about the royal wedding (doesnt seem like anyone here in the UK cares, they are just happy its a public holiday!) you will now be able to watch it live on YouTube from anywhere in the world.

The Royal Household has just announced that footage of the entire ceremony will be live-streamed on their official YouTube channel: www.youtube.com/theroyalchannel.

The live stream will begin at 10:00a BST (9:00a GMT, 2:00a PT, 5:00a ET) on Friday, April 29, and will follow the wedding procession, marriage ceremony at Westminster Abbey and balcony kiss. Alongside the live stream, The Royal Channel will also feature live blog commentary of the event to give timely updates and insights as the day unfolds. For those of you in different time zones, the footage will be reshown in its entirety directly following the event and will be available in full on the site to view afterwards.

Comscore have claimed that our of 4.3 billion video ads in the US in March, 1.2 billion of those were on Hulu. This seems to be an amazing amount of the market, but Google is yet to really venture into video streaming advertising (which Im sure will be coming on YouTube very soon).

Internet users spent a total of 1.9 billion minutes watching video ads last month, ComScore said. Out of those, Hulu was the top property, delivering 520 million minutes of video ad viewing. Overall, video ads accounted for 12.7 percent of all ads viewed online in March, while the average video ad ran for 24 seconds.

Once you have found the YouTube video you would like to grab then simply type in the URL and the app will do the rest. The application will pull the audio from the video and then all you to download and rename the mp3 file.

YouTube videos have a lot of keyboard shortcuts that I never even knew about. For example, Labnol has let us know that if you press the ‘0’ key to move the play head to the beginning of a video. Additionally, the YouTube player now lets you alter the playback speed of a video so that you may fast-forward, or slow-down, the video with a click.

It is a very simple option that is being rolled out across YouTube videos as we speak.

That being said, the days of holding your camera in hand could be over. The future of digital cameras could be in the Looxcie, which attaches to your head and allows you to record video with the natural turn of your own head. Looking similar to an oversized bluetooth head set, the Looxcie, which retails for $200, shoots in HVGA quality. Video enthusiasts may or may not appreciate the quality or the limited capabilities of a device like this, but the innovation is definitely there.

Interestingly enough, many might argue that you would not be able to see exactly what you are recording without the standard side screen that most digital cameras come equipped with. For now that situation is solved for Android users who are able to run the Looxcie app which sees what the the camera sees, allowing you to adjust the view all by seeing what the camera sees on the phone. Not only that, but the mobile apps also allows for limited editing and such before pushing out your video to the world.

Does a device like this interest you? I can definitely see the application for certain professional markets, but not sure if they can beef it up for the prosumer market.

There are several sites and applications available to do this, but this is one of the simplest we can find.

1. Just access the web site ListenToYouTube.com.
2. Copy/Paste the YouTube URL. Click Go.
3. Wait a few seconds until the video is retrieved to a server, removed the audio and make it available to download.

We can even choose the type of quality of the audio we are going to download, standard or high quality.

With a simple cross-fade and mix of some of your favorite music, not only are you providing your audience with great tunes, but paired with music videos is always a nice visual touch. I’ve tried playing with the web app and honestly, I’m not a good DJ. But, if you’ve got the talent give it a try. You can search for your favorite songs, and load them up in two play lists. You then set up your videos to cue at a certain point that will allow for a seamless integration. Start your music, and then adjust as necessary.

If you’re wondering what the final product will look like, below are samples of videos that have been mixed, and some of them are really really good. This won’t get you a moonlighting gig, but it’s a lot of fun to play with.

Millions of Americans, and indeed people around the world, tuned in to watch the highlight of the US sporting year, the Super Bowl. As Eric Schmidt, the CEO of Google, hinted yesterday, Google did indeed run an advertisement during the Super Bowl for the first ever time.

The ad has since become a hit around the Internet, especially on sites such as YouTube on Twitter, all within a few hours of being broadcast in the third quarter ad break of the Super Bowl. I watched it on YouTube, and I have to say it’s pretty well done. It basically summarises Google’s search functionality in a way which I’m sure has millions of US families going ‘Awwwwww’.
