Sprint debuts the new Kyocera Echo at an event in New York City last night. Im a huge fan of the double touchscreen of the Kyocera Echo.

Each screen is a 3.5-inch WVGA touch display. The two screens are connected via a pivot hinge and can be used separately or combined together for a larger 4.7-inch display.

Sprint will launch the Android 2.2 phone this spring for $199.99 with two-year contract.

The Vizit is one example of a “smart” digital photo frame. I use the word “smart” loosely as I’ve seen other devices that may not be photo frames do a lot more and yet function in the same way. Nevertheless if you’re just looking for the frame, the Vizit offers an always on data connection – to the AT&T network – to send the photos you have or take to the device via email, mms, or via the vizitme.com website. As an added bonus users will be able to interact with the touch screen surface to manipulate the flow of the photos by going forward or backwards to quickly see what’s been stored.

The Vizit comes in with a pricey $280 price tag. While it might seem competitive, there’s always another device that can serve not only as a device to share photos, but also run a variety of apps, but we’ll leave that decision between Vizit and unmentioned device to you.

Remember a few weeks ago, right around the time of CES, when everyone was yammering on about the Apple iPad. All the other prospective touch screen tablets which were ‘up and coming’ took a back seat. The HP Slate was given the cold shoulder and the MSI 10-inch tablet? Forget it.

Now however, the sobering release of the real Apple iPad (not the wishy-washy dreams of Apple fan boys) have us looking at the competition. And according to DigiTimes, MSI’s tablet will retail at a pricy $500. Ouch.

However, I do smell a level of success for this one. You see, the iPad has been bombarded with criticism for being an oversized iPod Touch. Everyone wanted a slim, touch screen computer but that just didn’t happen. MSI might fulfil the prophesy.

It’s got a desktop much like that of your standard PC and has numerous ports and external ports. It’s not as sleek looking as the overgrown iPod iPad but it does have an aura of practicality about it.

This is a tough one to call. And to be honest, it’s destiny (and perhaps even that of the HP slate) relies on how well publicity goes for the iPad over the next few weeks. If the launch goes well and people get over the iPod feel, then MSI might be in trouble. If things keep going as they are though, then the MSI tablet might just be the next big hit for portable touch screen computing!

The device features a holographic laser projection that allows it to create a bright, high-quality, always in focus WVGA resolution image — up to 10 inches — on nearly any surface, and pairs it with an infra-red touch sensing system to turn the projected image into a touch screen. The device also runs Flash Lite with many applications like photos, videos, and some games. The device also comes with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, 2GB of onboard memory, and a microSD slot for expansion.

The Light Touch turns any surface into a workable space.

Any surface can now become your interactive space instead of being tied to a particularly sized monitor. Essentially you free your experience. The possibilities for the Light Touch extend beyond the consumer experience but the company looks to provide extended services to various business markets and other professional institutions. Currently it exists as a reference product, but it does open up the possibilities of using existing technology in a new way.

Does this mean the tablets are useless?

Not at all, but right now the world is waiting, with much anticipation, the next creation from Apple. So much hype, speculation, rumors, and piqued interest are focused on this device that any chance that Microsoft thought they had to diffuse the bubble didn’t work. Now I’m not an Apple fan boy, but it’s hard to argue that Apple didn’t change the market when it introduced the iPod into the mp3 market, or the mobile phone industry when it introduced the iPhone. Can they do it again in the tablet market?

The announcement of this device reminds me of the tablet-like devices from a few years ago where the monitor just turned 360-degrees to flatten, much like a tablet. Sure the it was a laptop, and it was thicker, but this thinner version does not seem to offer anything more than the face that it’s…thinner.

Still, I’m surprised they didn’t speculate on pricing, either to wait and see what Apple does, or to sweep in and be the low cost alternative when Apple prices too high. Both of these strategies seem equally as viable.

Here’s a video teaser of the device, but notice at the end how the HP symbol appears. Is it just me or is that the “Apple pinch”? If so, didn’t the courts award a patent on the pinch?

This color puzzle cube kept some of entertained for hours while for others it was a great projectile to throw at your siblings or at the wall, but in either case many of us have come in contact with one at some point in our lives.

Well the puzzle cube has updated itself for the 21st Century, and a whole new generation can become frustrated all over again. The new cube uses touch and sliding technology that most of us will be familiar with already or at least recognize in how we interact with Apple’s products or any other touch interface. the cube still has it’s colorful display but this time the cube is much more fragile.

Coming in at a whopping $150, I’m not quite sure if it’s something everyone will have, but for those of us into nostalgia and who want to pick one up, even if just for novelty purposes you can do so from Amazon.

The downside? Well you can’t take off the stickers and rearrange them to impress your friends. The upside? Well if you know programming, you just might be able to rearrange the colors to impress your friends.

In either case it’s a steep price to pay for frustration but for those of you that mastered the old, here’s a whole new way to master the new. If you’ve got one, seen one, or know someone who has one, I’d love to hear your thoughts on it and whether you find it as fun as the original.
