Everyday we get some interesting emails from iPhone application developers who are looking for a bit of extra press and insight into their apps. Today I thought I would run through iCascade a new game for the iPhone and iPod Touch.
iCascade is a puzzle game that comes with a new addictive gameplay. Try to find the right place for your blocks, but think ahead because the playing field rotates! Get points for 3 or more contiguous blocks. iCascade is a very addictive game that really promotes a huge amount of thought process (well for me anyways).
No I know what most of you are thinking, why the hell isn’t this an iPhone app or why hasn’t Apple done this already, well they should have! The Next Web is reporting on a new app that is really going to help.
It’s an awesome app in Cydia called “Categories” which lets you organise your apps into folders. The app provides an array of different icons you can use, you can easily rename folders via the app and adding/removing apps is relatively easy. However, this is not available in the app store and you need to have your iPhone jailbroken.
Currently, on my iPod touch I have over 5 pages worth of applications that I use on a monthly basis. At the moment I’m having so much trouble keep track of the apps and actually arranging them so they can be easily used and organised. Apple needs to come up with an app like this, either that or they need to be able to arrange your apps directly in iTunes.
One limitation: the app doesn’t recognise iPhone web apps only genuinely local apps.
As I noted above, this is only for Jailbroken iPhones. Other features which Cydia (jailbroken app database) brings is copy & paste, 5 apps in the dock amongst hundreds of others.
Ten One Design has created a way to boost the sound for your iPhone 3G. The product is called SoundClip and it increases the sound by about 10dB with signal between 6kHz and 20kHz.
This would be useful to people that especially love to listen to music through the built-in speaker, but the device just gets in the way of iPhone gamers in landscape mode.
Storing the SounClip is simple. There is a cord-gripping feature that keeps it fastened to your iPhone charge cable during syncing and charging. To buy the device, visit Ten One’s website here.
Apple is a company that always seems to have a lot of rumours about their upcoming product launches. Here is a new one to add to the group, the Apple Macbook Touch. Some sources claim that
Apple is planning to launch the new Macbook on an event that is to be held on October 14. At this stage there is no official word that is actually a reality, but I think that this is definitely a product that will soon be launched.
There are other sites who have already reported on this rumour, including Gizmodo and Sizlopedia. As Sizlopedia mentioned, I doubt however Apple will launch a revolutionary new product at such a small gathering, when they have Macworld Expo 2009 not so far away.
It has been announced that AT&T will join forces with Microsoft and use the Microsoft Surface. The announcement was made yesterday at the 5th Annual AT&T Press Luncheon during CTIA.
The Microsoft Surface features a 30″ multi touch screen which can detect any phones on its surface. With AT&T the Surface will have the capabilities of dragging videos, photos, ring tones, songs and dropping them into the phones. The Surface is a great concept but I cant see this making too much difference in phone shops throughout the USA. It would be much better if it could be used in restaurants. However, that being said im sure this is a nice additional revenue stream for Microsoft.
After yesterdays big announcements at MacWorld, Crenk can now be added to your iPhone or iPod Touch Home Page.
If you head to crenk.com in your Safari browser and then bookmark the site, a few options will appear and one is to add Crenk to you Home Page. This will bring up a confirmation page and then it will be amazingly added to your Home Page, with a nice little icon that looks like this:
