There has been a lot of talk about the Apple Tablet in the past 6 months, but now since it has been delayed the press have moved over to the actual applications which are going to be on the Apple Tablet and other Tablets. Here is a preview of what Time Inc. has come up with for Sports Illustrated. I really think it looks great and has a lot of potential. However, these applications and the content doesnt seem to be ad funded (well at least not in traditional IAB sizes), so are these all going to be completely subscription based?

The folks behind TIME magazine at TIME Inc. have just launched their new technology website dubbed Techland. The new website has many old faces from TIME on its masthead including their Tech editor Lev Grossman who’ll be a regular contributor.

They’ll cover the more ‘user orientated’ area of the market with much of their categories revolving around products and less about news. These categories include Gadgets, Gaming, Culture and Videos.

Overall, it looks like a good website from a reliable bunch however the design is a little sloppy and I’d imagine they’ll be tidying things up a bit as the site grows. The ties with TIME are still evident with many of their information pages such as ‘Contact Us’ leading directly to TIME’s customer services page.

Have you ever wondered how much time you have been wasting on Twitter? Well I have! On the Crenk account alone we have over 2,195 tweets already and I seem to be spending more and more time on the site. Well Tweetwasters.com is to your rescue, cause this is a new service that lets you know how long you have been spending on Twitter (well an estimate anyways).

According to Tweetwasters we have 2,194 total tweets and assuming they spent an average of 30 seconds per tweet they’ve spent 65,820 Seconds or 1,097 Minutes or 18.28 Hours or 0.76 Days using Twitter!

How long have you wasted on Twitter?

Are you an employee looking to keep track of your employees time? Are you trying to work out how to best optimise the time of your employees, because they are your largest overhead? Well introducing Timecamp. Timecamp is a new tracking tool that seems to be very similar to Basecamp but for employee tracking. It’s like history book or google analytics, but works with people’s time. Increase team productivity, eliminate “time killers”, get more done and stay focused.

The service seems very straight forward and also seems to be a relatively new startup. Im not so keen on it being so closely based to Basecamp, but it is a simply idea with a simple solution. Currently the have a free pricing for individual users, but also a $8 per month pricing for any other additional users you want to add to the system.

If you have used Timecamp it would be great to hear your feedback.

Paymo is a time tracking tool that helps its users keep track of all the hours they spend working on a specific project.

Paymo helps managers sort out their invoicing by providing an online invoicing module, which produces professional templates in seconds. Other features include, central database with all timesheets, employee performance/utilization reports, easy to use client to project to task structure, and has a great brandable user interface.

Paymo for employees allows them to keep track of their time on the go with mobile tracking, as well as being 100% web based, easy to use interface and more.

Paymo is a great tool that still isnt getting the recognition it probably deserves. There are a lot of these type of tools in the marketplace now, but make sure you head over the give Paymo a try before you dismiss it.
