FreeOCR has some limitations about the service: We can upload files up to 2MB, only 10 images per hour, and for PDF files, the text extracted will be only for the first page.

Now, from the creators of the T9 prediction dictionary, we have Swype. A new way of inputting text on a touch screen phone. It works by rapidly swiping your finger around on the screen and stopping on relevant letters. This removes the need for tapping and as such reduces the amount of time it takes to write a message or e-mail. The first phone which will have this will be the Samsung Omnia II, which is due for release shortly.

Here is a leaked video which was obtained by TechCrunch. It’s a race between Swype and traditional tapping method – the results are definitive.
