Yesterday in New York, Google launched the new Google Wallet. Google Wallet is an application that will turn your mobile phone into your wallet.
On Google Wallet you will be able to store your credit cards, loyalty cards, gift cards and more. At launch Google Wallet will support Citi Mastercard and Google Prepaid Card.
According to PayPal’s lawsuit, read in full here, former PayPal executive (now working at Google) Osama Bedier stole PayPal’s trade secrets and shared it with Google and other companies. Another present Googler and former PayPal exec, Stephanie Tilenius, violated her contract when she recruited Bedier, PayPal said.
Square is preparing to livestream their new product launch on Monday the 23rd May. The livestream will be happening from the Techcrunch Disrupt stage and Im very much looking forward to seeing what Square release.
Square is an amazing card reader that will turn any iOS device into a credit card accepting machine! This is an amazing tool for merchants who havent been able to afford other devices provided by banks, and Square only charges 2.5% per swipe.
There is no word yet on what they are going to release, but I would love to see the product leave the USA and head for Europe!
Square is a hot startup that is making big waves in mobile payments. From now on, Square won’t be asking merchants to pay $0.15 each time a credit card is swiped. Instead, merchants will be asked to pay a fee of 2.75%.
There is still a cost attached, but this is a big deal for merchants who have high volume of sales with a low transaction cost. Instead of having to tally credit card processing fees based on the number of credit card transactions, they can simply multiply the total dollar amount for credit card purchases by .0275.
It would great to see Square head over the pond to the UK!
Being a huge fan of Square the news that they were releasing an iPad app really excited me. Square has been very active recently with apps released on the iPhone/iTouch and with the release of the iPad, it was only a matter of time before it would happen. Currently some of the bigger apps they’ve released include Chaos Rings, Crystal Defenders, Final Fantasy I & II, and Song Summoner.
Recently Square has made two big announcements, the first being the release of FFXIII image gallery, which was previously released on the iPhone/iTouch, but the iPad version now supports 3D images. With use of the regular red and blue glasses, the images will come to life in a whole new way. The second announcement was the release of an actual game involving the iconic Chocobo.
Chocobo Panic has users attempting to keep control of the many Chocobos bouncing around the screen. The game allows for up to six points of touch, so get together with six of our friends and keep the Chocobos from going chaotic on the screen. Sounds like a lot of fun, but for how long? I’m interested in seeing this game and actually interacting with it.
It was also confirmed that Chaos Rings and Crystal Defenders would be coming to the iPad in the near future. This will excite many iPad owners who have been waiting for Square to make a big splash on the larger device.
