This new device aims to enhance your multimedia experience, its called SMELLIT. SMELLIT allows you to smell you favourite movies and video games. It has a very interesting design that looks quite a lot like desktop speakers.
SMELLIT is still in prototype, so we still dont know the exact details on what smells the device will be able to produce. However, there are a lot of times when I watch tv when Im very glad I dont have smellivision.
A long time ago we reported about quick ways to watch movies online but without having to download any software. I thought it was about time we gave you an update!
10StarMovies is the best solution for movies at the moment. 10StarMovies allows users to search for the movie they want to watch and then it provides the user with a huge range of movie website option. Simply select where you want to watch this movie from and it starts to stream. It even provides an ability to see what percentage of people actually said the stream worked fine.
TheWarp has the exclusive on YouTube getting ready to launch their own movies on-demand service. The service will allow users to stream key Hollywood movies.
The key Hollywood studios have been searching for a competitor to iTunes that they can push and it seems as though YouTube is that key competitor.
It is expected that the new movies on-demand service could launch as soon as this week, but I would expect it in a few weeks time. Studios that have already signed include Sony Pictures, Warner Brothers and Universal. So far only Paramount, Fox and Disney havent joined the service, but Im sure after a while they will follow (except Disney, who has Steve Jobs as the major shareholder).
You can check out the full details over at TheWarp.
Microsoft released recently a Harry Potter theme for Windows 7 and is completely free for download; take a look in this link.
The end of the incredibly popular Harry Potter saga is coming to the end with the first part of the final movies: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1. And Microsoft is offering for all those fans the complete theme pack of the movie with wallpapers, sounds, icons, pointers, etc.
Here at Crenk we have talked a lot about online movies sites and which ones are actually worth using. We have noticed on our Watch Movie Links article that a lot of users have been suggesting Hotdog Movies, so we thought we would check them out.
Hotdog Movies is a great movies directory. Unlike Watch Movies Links you arent able to watch the movies directly on Hotdog Movies, instead they direct you to the leading sources so you have a choice of where to watch the movie. We all know that most of these sites arent completely legal, but Hotdog movies is trying to provide links they are legal and can be watched anytime and without having to download any annoying software.
Anyways, check it out and let us know what you think.
Star Wars saga represents, in deed, in one most the most significant movies of all times; the fans are not only loyal to the series but also they are increasing constantly. That’s the main reason for the variety of merchandising going around, and this time with the Star Wars USB drives.
I have to say, the design is just great, I really love the cartoon-looking sketch for each of the characters. And the variety: C-3PO, Wicket, Darth Sidious, Darth Vader Unmasked, Darth Maul, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Luke Skywalker, etc. etc.
Too bad there are tons of sold out The models available start from 2GB (U$S29.95) up to 16GB (U$S89.95)
For those Mortal Kombat fans still around there, just a few days ago a video (trailer or just a short film?) appeared in the Internet about a possible new movie/saga, and maybe a new game?
This mini production is just great, the characters and the scenes are very well represented. Regarding the characters we can find: Jax, Sonya, Baraka, Johnny Cage, Reptile… and there’s one more, most likely the main one, you can find it by watching the video.
Here’s the video available (you can also watch it Full HD, 1080p):
So what’s the story of this video so far?
Appeared initially in YouTube as anonymous.
Kevin Tancharoen is going to be in charge of this movie, and appears so he wants to make a complete remake of the original films. Sounds like a good idea considering the fiasco with the last one: Mortal Kombat: Annihilation.
The original propose is making these films R-rated (adults only).
Warner Bros will be studio behind it. And they don’t like the idea of making the saga only for adults.
Related to this video, if you already watched you will see Johnny Cage dying. The story behind it is that Daniel Pesina (Johnny Cage in MK videogame) was originally fired by Midway for wearing the Johnny Cage custom in an advertisement; ending with his character dead when Mortal Kombat 3 was released.
IMDB added a comment “Warner Bros. looking to reboot franchise, but Threshold Entertainment filed new breach of contract lawsuit to prevent it from moving forward”
Watching movies online has never been more popular, and previously here on Crenk we have review so many sites trying to get user eyeballs. Today we have come across yet another great movie links site which is called Watch Movies.
After looking to their directory they seem to have a great list of new and old movies in pretty much every genre possible. All you need to do is search their database for the movie or movies you want to watch and then they provide a very simple link in which you can click and download your movie, its that simple!
Im not entirely sure how legal this site is, plus when you go to download your movie you need a special piece of software. This is all provided for free but is a lot more annoying then just heading to Hulu and seeing if they have the same movie.
It seems like Watch Movies and Movies Links are pretty much exactly the same site and probably owned by the same guy.
MovieClips is a movie fan site with a twist. MovieClips has over 12,000 movie clips where you can search, find, video, discuss and share scenes from your favourite movies.
the team at MovieClips has worked tirelessly to collect clips and make them completely searchable by actor, title, genre, occasion, action, mood, character, theme, setting, prop, and even dialogue. This makes it simple to find a scene fast. MovieClips hopes that you’ll use this powerful search to discover new movies. For that reason, we’ve included links with each clip to easily buy or rent the feature-length movie.
MovieClips is currently in beta and is completely free and legal to every user (no matter of location).
The independent circuit in any field is risky, but moreso for the entertainment industry. Independent filmakers, like musicians, comedians, etc, all struggle to be seen, recognized, and signed eventually with some dollar signs that hopefully repay the long days of struggling. Getting yourself out there is just a little easier now that more people are able to access the web, but it’s still no guarantee, but it’s always a good start.
For indie film makers in particular I discovered Openfilm, which is an indie film site that works not just as despository for your work, but also as a sales/marketing machine for what you’ve created. The site is backed by some amazing film makers all out to help indies find their audience and hopefully find their day in the sun. Considering how many independents are out there, it’s a tough sell, but after talking with a few local short film makers, they’ve found it to be priceless.
The site focuses on high quality live action and animated films from just about everywhere. Premium content on the site allows the film makers to make a little money out of the gate, but as they grow in popularity, larger deals can be made with those that have a much greater interest in giving the film an opportunity.
Some of the benefits that Openfilm offers to viewers and content creators:
Large, high definition video player displaying resolutions from 640×360 pixels up to full-blown HD at 1280×720;
Prescreening, selection and custom encoding all submissions to preserve the highest possible quality;
Submissions accepted as Internet uploads (up to 2 GB) or as mail-in DVDs. Users also have private FTP access to upload their videos to the site;
No limitations on content duration;
Custom-made optional subtitles in English and Spanish;
Large variety of upload file formats, including (.swf) Flash animation;
Transcription of cast & crew information and production photos;
Advanced search filter through main site’s sections: Videos, Channels, People, Blogs, Reviews and Festivals;
Custom user channel logos and flash banners for channels created by the Openfilm designers;
Convenient features of Viewing History and Quicklist;
All standard sharing features including Favorites and Playlists, star ratings and comments, and many others;
Reviews, blogs, and newsletters;
Comprehensive database of film festivals.
If you’re making a film, or know someone who is, have them take a look at Open film and see if there’s a way they can gain a wider audience on a platform that works in sync with the passions of independent film makers.
