Scores.org created a complete infographic representing the timeline for Google’s acquisitions in their short life. A simple way to see what they bought, when and in what product this acquisition transformed.

We should know by now that any of the largest companies in the world right now are in fact the most important ones because of their appetite and their capabilities to buy other companies. Google indeed took some great decisions in the last 10 years about this: YouTube, FeedBurner, Postini and Picasa are just a few of those.

Take a look to the complete list. Take note that this infographic divides the acquisition in time and type (technology, market and talent):

Microsoft maintains focus, as all the large companies, in the mobile market. And now is making another important move: Creating a special division in the mobile area, the mobile gaming section.

We all know that the mobile market is the most wanted area where all large companies are working with a high intensity right now, and the games development is one of the most important divisions. Android is getting important improvements and we don’t have to say anything about Apple, browse for a few seconds the AppStore and we can find thousands of games available.

Windows Phone 7 is trying to compete in the mobile OS share, but it won’t be easy with Android and Apple (we’ve discussed this earlier with the report about smartphones), which already have control of this share globally.

The new division inside Mobile’s, is called MGS Mobile Gaming. And they are already were looking for professionals; and since they’ve already found it, we can only imagine that this area will be online ASAP. No time to waste.

Nokia has always been a company to diversify. They started out as a logging company for god’s sake and now they’re making the worlds greatest smart phones. Now, company bosses have confirmed that Nokia is currently looking into the netbook market to see if they can get a slice of the action.

The Nokia CEO said “the PC and the mobile will continue to come closer and merge.”

NetBooks are becoming increasingly popular over the past few years. People need more mobility than ever. When their smart phone doesn’t quite pack the punch they need they can take out their thin 11” netbook.

A netbook from Nokia might not be such a bad idea. I would imagine it would run windows XP given the limited computing power available on netbooks. If they were to release one, their very image as a mobile phone company would certainly rub off on a small, portable netbook.

However, I wouldn’t get my hopes up just yet until we hear back from Nokia. Many times companies have announced plans that have never bore fruit.
