These days the ability to stream high quality video, update on social networking sites minute-by-minute, and stay up-to-the-hour on news and data is less a luxury and more an expectation. Those unaware of the nearing extermination of unauthorized tethering or those who feel invincible against its ramifications need to begin making plans for the world to come, especially if their livelihoods depend on it. Here is a step by step video to show you how to do it yourself.

Otherwise you will need to do the following:

1. Download PwnageTool 4.2.8
2. Right click PwnageTool 4.2, select Show Content Package and move over to Contents-Resources-Firmware Bundles and then copy the iOS 4.3.8 bundles in the folder.
3. Start iTunes and hit Restore while holding the Option key
4. Select iOS 4.2.8 firmware and wait for it to be restored
5. Enjoy!

Step 1: Download PwnageTool 4.3 for Mac.

Step 2: Download iOS 4.3.1 firmware. Move all these files to the desktop.

Step 3: Start PwnageTool in “Expert mode” and select your device:

Step 4: Browse for iOS 4.3.1 firmware for your device as shown in the screenshot below:

Step 5: Now select “Build” to start creating custom 4.3.1 firmware file:

Step 6: PwnageTool will now create the custom .ipsw file for your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch which will be jailbroken.

Step 7: Now follow the following steps to enter DFU mode using PwnageTool:

• Hold Power and Home buttons for 10 seconds
• Now release the Power button but continue holding the Home button for 10 more seconds
• You device should now be in DFU mode

Step 8: Start iTunes, click on your iOS device icon from the sidebar in iTunes. Now press and hold left “alt” (option) button on Mac, or Left “Shift” button if you are on Windows on the keyboard and then click on “Restore” (Not “Update” or “Check for Update”) button in the iTunes and then release this button.

This will make iTunes prompt you to select the location for your custom firmware 4.3.1 file. Select the required custom .ipsw file that you created above, and click on “Open”.

Step 9: Now sit back and enjoy as iTunes does the rest for you. This will involve a series of automated steps. Be patient at this stage and don’t do anything silly. Just wait while iTunes installs the new firmware 4.3.1 on your iOS device. Your iOS device screen at this point will be showing a progress bar indicating installation progress. After the installation is done, your iOS device will be jailbroken on iOS 4.3.1.

Step 1: Download PwnageTool bundle (includes Universal Ramdisk Fixer) for your version of iOS device. Extract the .zip folder, in there you will find a .bundle file, for this guide, we are using iPhone 4 bundle iPhone3,1_4.3.1_8G4.bundle. Move this file to your desktop.

Step 2: Download PwnageTool 4.2 and copy it to /Applications directory. Right click, and then click on “Show Package Contents” as shown in the screenshot below.

Step 3: Navigate to Contents/Resources/FirmwareBundles/ and paste iPhone3,1_4.3.1_8G4.bundle file in this location.

Step 4: Download Universal Ramdisk Fixer (part of the PwnageTool bundle package that you downloaded in Step 1 above) and simply install it as shown in the screenshots below. This is important because Ramdisk in the current version of PwnageTool is broken. This Universal Ramdisk Fixer basically patches it correctly for iOS 4.3.1 firmware.

Step 5: Download iOS 4.3.1 firmware. Move this file to your desktop.

Step 6: Start PwnageTool in “Expert mode” and select your device:

Step 7: Browse for iOS 4.3.1 firmware for your device as shown in the screenshot below:

Step 8: Now select “Build” to start creating custom 4.3.1 firmware file:

Step 9: PwnageTool will now create the custom .ipsw file for your iPhone which will be jailbroken.

Last but not the least, since there is no untethered jailbreak for iOS 4.3.1 yet, we will have to boot it into a tethered jailbroken state. To do this, we will make use of a utility named “tetheredboot” as shown in the steps below.

Step 13: Download tetheredboot.zip utility for Mac OS X and extract the .zip file.

Step 14: First, we will need two files from the custom iOS 4.3.1 firmware namely: kernelcache.release.n90 and iBSS.n90ap.RELEASE.dfu. To do this, make a copy of your custom iOS 4.3.1 file that you created above, change the extension of this file from .ipsw to .zip, and then extract this .zip file.

Now copy kernelcache.release.n90 file, and then copy iBSS.n90ap.RELEASE.dfu files which are found under /Firmware/dfu/.

Move all these files, and tetheredboot utility to a new folder named “tetheredboot” on the desktop as shown in the screenshot below.

Step 15: Turn off your iOS device, and start Terminal on OS X and run the following commands:

sudo -s

enter your administrator password, then:

/Users/TaimurAsad/Desktop/tetheredboot/tetheredboot
/Users/TaimurAsad/Desktop/tetheredboot/iBSS.n90ap.RELEASE.dfu
/Users/TaimurAsad/Desktop/tetheredboot/kernelcache.release.n90

You will have to of course replace “TaimurAsad” with the name of the directory on your computer.

now press enter.

NOTE: If the above fails, try ‘tetheredboot -i ibss -k kernel’ instead of ‘tetheredboot ibss kernel’:

/Users/TaimurAsad/Desktop/tetheredboot/tetheredboot –i
/Users/TaimurAsad/Desktop/tetheredboot/iBSS.n90ap.RELEASE.dfu -k
/Users/TaimurAsad/Desktop/tetheredboot/kernelcache.release.n90

Tip: Simply drag and drop in Terminal – tetheredboot file, then iBSS file and then kernelcache.release file.

You should now see some code running in the Terminal window, at some point, it will ask you to enter DFU mode. Now follow the following steps to enter DFU mode:

• Hold Power and Home buttons for 10 seconds
• Now release the Power button but continue holding the Home button for 10 more seconds
• You device should now be in DFU mode

Now wait for your device to boot, Terminal at this point will be showing “Exiting libpois0n” message. After a short while, your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch will be booted in a jailbroken tethered mode !

Snowbreeze 2.3 beta 3 was just released today and already thousands of people worldwide are using this method. Here is a quick tutorial on how to tethered jailbreak your iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad using iOS 4.3.

1. Download Sn0wbreeze 2.3b3 for Windows
2. Make sure you have iTunes and iOS 4.3 on your device.
3. Start Sn0wbreeze 2.3 beta 3
4. Click the Browse button to select iOS 4.3.ipsw file for your iOS device
5. Once the .ipsw has been identified, click next arrow to proceed
6. To start creating your custom iOS 4.3 firmware, select the “Expert Mode”, followed by “Build IPSW” option
7. Once it has been cooked you will see the Done message
8. Sn0wbreeze 2.3b3 willow instruct you on how to enter DFU mode.

You will need:

1. After installing the drivers, meeting the prerequisites, and downloading CLShortFuse’s Super One Click, proceed to the next step.
2. Extract the Super One Click package to a folder on your computer
3. Place your phone into USB Debugging mode
   • Menu >> Settings >> Applications >> Development >> Enable “USB debugging”
4. Connect the device to your computer via USB cable
5. Do NOT mount your device’s SD card
6. Run the Super One Click program
7. Simply click the “Root” button in Super One Click
8. Before rebooting, click “Allow Non Market Apps”
9. Reboot your device

That’s if folks, you now are ready to tinker around with your rooted Motorola Atrix 4G.

Here is a quick guide on how to use Greenpoison RC5 on your Mac OS X.

1. Download Greenpois0n RC5 for Mac OS X

2. Connect your iPhone/ iPod Touch with iOS 4.2.1 firmware to USB

3. Now start Greenpois0n RC5 App

4. Click on Jailbreak Button and follow the on screen instructions to put your iPhone, iPod Touch in DFU mode.

5. Once your iPhone/iPod Touch with iOS 4.2.1 is in DFU mode, click on “Jailbreak”  on Greenpois0n to start the jailbreak process.

6. Once Greenpois0n finishes jailbreak process you will notice a new icon “Loader” on your springboard, click on Loader to install Cydia and reboot your iPhone/iPod Touch if Cydia doesn’t show up.

That’s it, you have successfully jailbreaked iOS 4.2.1 untethered on iPhone 4, 3GS & iPod Touch 2G, 3G & 4G.

Requirements:

• The iPhone must be jailbroken with Cydia installed
• It requires an internet connection (preferably Wi-Fi)

GUIDE:

1. Launch Cydia and install Backboard (free)
2. Backboard created within a backup of your current theme. You can do this by pushing the “+” at the bottom left of the app.
3. Now with your iPhone, click on the link below, or write it by hand navigation bar in safari:
4. ” backboard: / / http://wyndrepo.googlecode.com/files/OS7Beta.zip “
5. Press “Yes” and wait for the download to finish. This may take several minutes depending on your internet connection.
6. Select the theme from the board OS7
7. Press install and wait for the automatic Respring iPhone.

If the i4 crypto engine couldn’t get those, it would have been bad sign for limera1n. But it did, so there’s still hope.

Considering the fact that it isn’t vulnerable, then Verizon iPhone 4 owners would not be able to jailbreak their devices and would have to wait until somebody else finds a new bootrom exploit.

And if by any chance, iOS 4.2.6 is vulnerable to the Limera1n exploit, this would mean that at least a tethered jailbreak would be possible from day 1.

PSJailBreak is the USB system that we will be able to find and buy with the promise that we can run copied versions of PS3 games. The company who developed PSJailBreak says that “will never break your console” and will support all games.

But Sony simply said that they are not going to allow it. This USB gadget generates an error “8002A227” in the system, which can be detected soon as the PS3 logs in the PlayStation Store. And when this happens, Sony will ban this console (if you remember, Microsoft did same for XBOX consoles which were altered with the same purpose).

How to root HTC EVO 4G Android Phone

Step 1: Download this file (PC36IMG.zip) and copy it to the root of the storage card.

Step 2: Turn the phone off. Once it is, hold down the volume button and the power button until you get a white screen and some text. You’re now in the bootloader. It should automatically start checking the PC36IMG.zip file you copied on the card.

Step 3: Once it’s done, it will prompt and ask if you want to install Images. Select yes.

Step 4: Confirm to reboot.

You have now rooted ROM on your EVO. Make sure to delete or rename the PC36IMG file so that it does not try to install it again automatically next time you enter into bootloader. You can rename it by plugging in the phone, choosing “HTC Sync” and type the following command:

adb shell mv /sdcard/PC36IMG.zip /sdcard/root-PC36IMG.zip

Voila! You have rooted your HTC EVO 4G successfully. Leave the phone plugged in if you want to load the custom recovery.

Flashing recovery for custom ROMs

To install custom ROMs on the Evo 4G, you must flash the recovery image. Follow the steps below.

Step 1: Download this file (evorecovery) to your desktop and unzip it.

Step 2: Type “adb reboot recovery” on your command line prompt (without quotes). This will reboot the phone into recovery mode. It looks like this:

Step 3: Once it’s in recovery mode, go back to your computer. Find the evo-recovery file that you unzipped. Inside are a series of files. For Windows, double-click “recovery-windows.bat.”  Windows Vista or Windows 7 users must right-click it first and choose “Run as administrator.” You now have the custom recovery module so you can back up the phone, flash custom ROMs, etc.

This new operating system release will be included by default in the “other” big Apple announcement of the year, iPhone 4G. But this OS will be available for iPhone models 3G and 3GS. The 3GS will include the multi-tasking feature with the iOS 4.

The people in charge of hacking this new operating system already published the tool bundles to execute this (NOT RECOMMENDED BY CRENK).
