How to Renew Your Computers IP Address
I had to renew one of our computer’s IP address the other day. Renewing an IP address seems to be a method most users dont know of, so I thought we would run through a quick guide.
- START>RUN and type cmd
- At the command line type ipconfig /release (or winipcfg /release in earlier versions of Windows)
- Next, type ipconfig /renew and you should get a new IP address from the router.
If this does not help, you will need to login to the router and delete the Mac address entry for your computer.
