Females are rarely treated with the same respect as males in the gaming industry, both in online and real-life interactions. Women working in the world of gaming aren’t taken as seriously as men. What continues to makes things even worse is the prevalent portrayal of females in video games: many are dressed in provocative clothing to accentuate extra-large busts, like the archetypal Lara Croft. Tammy Yap, a video game programmer for six years, says she asked one of her male colleagues (she was the only female) why women were always dressed like Vegas show girls. After all, this might offend some women and drive them away from gaming. The reply she received was: “What difference does it make? Women don’t play games.” Her colleague’s retort serves as a good example of the general attitude of most men when it comes to women gamers.

Unfortunately, female gamers aren’t getting their opinions attended to in the video game world. With so few women working in the industry, the video game market is close to being entirely ruled by men. Without having a female representative making her voice heard in the industry, female gamers won’t find as many games that they’re interested in on the market. Famous video game producer Denise Fulton thinks if more women played video games, then more women would start landing jobs in the industry. The consensus is that they would if more games were available that were more appealing to female players.

Playing video games is still branded as a boyish hobby. Women looking to enter the gaming industry already have it tough, but the rate at which they are finding jobs may stagnate if fellow female gamers aren’t willing to step up. Thankfully, this path has already begun being forged by prominent gaming women such as Morgan Webb and Denise Fulton, and indeed the evidence suggests the number of girls playing games is rising. Perceptions are already changing, and it may be only a matter of time before women’s presence in the game industry better reflects their growing numbers among players.

1. Go on your xbox and start up Call of Duty and select your USB
2. Start A New Game and as soon as you can pull up the start menu pull it up and back out of the game
3. Next Put the USB into your computer but do not open it
4. Download USB Explorer and extract everything in the zip to the same location
5. Start USB explorer As Admin and click file and then Open device
6. Then click throught all the numbers until you get to a file called Savegame.SVG
7. Then click extract and extract it somewhere save
8. When it finishes Open up Modio or Horizon as admin
9. Then Click Open a save and open up the save file you extracted
10. Then download this save and then open it with Modio or Horizon too
11. Next Copy the Profile and Device id from your unmodded one(the one from the USB) to the modded one(the one you downloaded)
12. Then press rehash and resign a couple of times
13. Now go back to USB explorer and click inject and then find your modded save(the one you downloaded)
14. Now go to your xbox and put the USB in it
15. The go back to System Settings/Memory/USB/Games/Call of duty world at war and copy or move it over to your xbox’s harddrive
16. Then start call of duty up and select your harddrive
17. Finally press Campaign and then Resume game(if this isn’t here you did something wrong) and press start and some text should come up in the upper left side of the screen
18. Press the xbox button and the start menu should come up and then click save and quit and then go and play some zombies

This mod works online and offline but you must resume Campaign every time. Below is how the mod works and this mod does not allow you to use grenades or monkeys/moltiv for some reason. If you are the Host you and everyone else has Unlimited Ammo. If you aren’t the host you can give your self full ammo by pressing RB.

START = ACTIVATE MODS
LB = DROP YOUR CURRENT WEAPON(Good if you want other people to have your weapons)
RB = GIVES YOU ALL WEAPONS(If you aren’t the host use this every time you are low on ammo)
LEFT STICK = NOCLIP(Basiclly you can just fly around and throught walls but make sure to active god mode because some place will kill you)
DPAD RIGHT = GOD MODE(Make it so you can die)
DPAD UP = 9TH PRESTIGE
DPAD DOWN = 10TH PRESTIGE
DPAD LEFT = 11TH PRESTIGE

I have always been savvy with technology and computers – I started working with my first computer at the young age of 8 and when I was 10, I taught myself how to program in BASIC literally overnight. For some reason, though, I didn’t immediately jump on the Facebook bandwagon the moment it became mainstream. It seemed silly, frivilous and simply trendy. I had been using MySpace and enjoyed the ability to control the look and feel of my page. I managed to find a few old friends on it, but most of them never posted anything. Mostly I just used my page as a personal blog to track my mundane life.

Then one day, I finally took the leap. I joined Facebook.

At first the pages looked dull and boring. A stark contrast to MySpace’s colorful pages, flashing blinkies and auto-loading music and videos. But what I quickly realized is that everyone I had on MySpace was also on Facebook and… guess what… they were actually posting! Next I realized that not only were my old friends there, but so were dozens more. To date I have connected with nearly my entire High School class, a childhood best friend I thought I would never find, old teachers, college friends, remote family and even old boyfriends (most of whom I was already still on speaking terms with). While these may not be people I feel the need to converse with on a regular basis, I feel priviliged that I can know what great (or terrible) things are happening in their lives, offer congratulations or condolenses, provide advice, wish happy birthday’s or just simply “Like” their status because… well… I liked it!

Today, like many people, I am hooked on Facebook. I have not only used it to connect with friends, but I have also used it to promote businesses I have been a part of and to follow other businesses I have interest in. And let’s not forget the oh-so-addicting games. So what if Facebook never existed? Where would be then?

Perhaps MySpace would have remained more popular. Or perhaps social networking as we know it today wouldn’t exist – at least not at the level it is now. Businesses would still rely solely on expensive advertising, email marketing and banner ads. While these methods are still used, Facebook’s advertising has been, in my experience, invaluable.

Some say people would call, write or speak in person more. But let’s be honest here, when was the last time you called someone just to update them on your life or find out about theirs? In High School? 15 years ago or so? People tend to stay in their own circles – in their comfort zone. Facebook allows us to open up and reach outside of our circle. It extends our comfort zone.

One thing is for certain, the world would be a less “friend”lier place. I never would have found my childhood friend or connected with classmates who had been outside my circle in High School. This also means I never would have intended to attend a reunion, which I now look forward to. Facebook has given me the ability to reach outside my daily circle and laugh, cry and vent with old and new friends alike. It has rekindled friendships and connected me with people I thought I would never get to talk to again.

So despite the addicting games and countless hours easily wasted away with Facebook, I am thankful it was created. I am thankful I took the leap. I am thankful for finding friends.

Case in point: Life just wouldn’t be the same without Facebook.

Rovio Mobile has confirmed that Angry Birds will be coming to Windows Phone 7 devices very soon.

“We’re working on it,” said Rovio’s “Mighty Eagle” Peter Vesterbacka, when we asked him if and when Angry Birds will be available on Windows Phone 7.

Windows Phone 7 is currently facing a lot of competition, but a recent deal with Nokia means they will soon be challenging the really big players in the mobile space.

It will be interesting to see if Angry Birds will be free or a paid download on Windows Phone 7.

It is the battle of the football gaming heavyweights. For so many years now there has been a huge rivalry between Fifa and PES game series. This time around it looks like Fifa 2011 has been outselling PES 2011.

Pro Evolution Soccer 11 is only one place below FIFA 11 in the UK gaming charts, but the weekend just gone was its opening one, with FIFA already being out for over a week, and Konami would have wanted top spot at the very least.

Instead, it has still failed to outsell its main competitor, despite FIFA 11 already being purchased by over 2.6 million people (worldwide) already.

It is being reported that PES 2011 only sold a tenth of the amount of copies that FIFA 11 managed in its opening week in the UK.

PSJailBreak is the USB system that we will be able to find and buy with the promise that we can run copied versions of PS3 games. The company who developed PSJailBreak says that “will never break your console” and will support all games.

But Sony simply said that they are not going to allow it. This USB gadget generates an error “8002A227” in the system, which can be detected soon as the PS3 logs in the PlayStation Store. And when this happens, Sony will ban this console (if you remember, Microsoft did same for XBOX consoles which were altered with the same purpose).

For one second you thought it was going to be as simple as connecting a USB drive to your console isn’t?

The NES hard drives come a variety of sizes up to 1TB, now that’s a lot of storage. The NES cartridges come some some classic flavors such as Mario/Duckhunt, Metroid, Bionic Commando, Contra, Tetris, and Dr. Mario to name a few. The storage devices are built into the original casings for these games with game imagery and all. They feature a 2.5-inch Toshiba drive with USB interfaces.

NES hard drives range in price from $130 – $180, depending on the size. Their nondescript look will wow your friends who won’t expect the classics of yesterday to be used as storage devices today. As a fan of the old NES system seeing these cartridges again brings back memories of late night gaming and trading games with friends.

Lineage II, as several other games, usually involves the gamers into the story making the plot very attractive. But sometimes seems that the story absorbs their players into some kind of addiction, this is what happened to this fellow who decided that this addiction has responsible and there must be some legal actions to execute.

After playing over 20,000 hours to this game, this person accused NCSoft (creators of Lineage) claiming the company was negligent for failing to “warn or instruct plaintiff and other players of Lineage II of its dangerous and defective characteristics, and of the safe and proper method of using the game.”

This “negligent” behavior of the company had the result of “unable to function independently in usual daily activities such as getting up, getting dressed, bathing or communicating with family and friends.” HA!

But that’s not all, the US District also said: “In light of plaintiff’s allegations, the court finds that plaintiff has stated a claim for both negligence and gross negligence”. This means that they are not dismissing the case so far. HAHA!

We all know that the mobile market is the most wanted area where all large companies are working with a high intensity right now, and the games development is one of the most important divisions. Android is getting important improvements and we don’t have to say anything about Apple, browse for a few seconds the AppStore and we can find thousands of games available.

Windows Phone 7 is trying to compete in the mobile OS share, but it won’t be easy with Android and Apple (we’ve discussed this earlier with the report about smartphones), which already have control of this share globally.

The new division inside Mobile’s, is called MGS Mobile Gaming. And they are already were looking for professionals; and since they’ve already found it, we can only imagine that this area will be online ASAP. No time to waste.

With Kinect and PlayStation move projects, the gaming market introduces body motion into highly developed games; but companies completely forgotten our classic games. Why we cannot think in a world where we do not need joysticks for games Galaga, Contra or 1942?

This invention takes NES version of Mario Bros 2, and the development seems awkward but I definitely want to try it. Take a look to the video:

The moving sensor we can place in our face captured every movement we make up, down, left or right; and translate those directly to the gaming console.

It’s really hard picture myself playing this game with my eyes. Fighting bosses will be extremely hard in these conditions.

China’s government announced recently that they will not allow the commercialization of XBOX Kinect device; but as always, people are always looking for a workaround, and the eBox device is appearing.

There are no official announcements, but apparently more news will appear in November and possibly the launch of this product will be on 2011. XBOX games won’t be supported by the eBOX console, but there are currently working 16 professional teams, some of them have developed games for Xbox 360 and Wii, from 8 countries will take part in the development of eBox’s games.

When I see this pic, I cannot avoid thinking about the other Chinese invention this year: The iPed.

FIFA represents, even though some PES fans won’t like it, the most important and complete soccer game available. Providing important and enhanced gaming features, FIFA’s game play is surely one of the best we can find; and now is available for everyone and completely free.

This PC online version is in a beta stage and does not offer the complete suite of features we can find in the full game (which is available for PC, Xbox, PS3, etc); but the gameplay is experience is quite the same.

Includes a different mouse control option for gameplay, saying that is “easy to use but a challenge to master”. You only have to subscribe to the FIFA Online site, download an installer file (1GB) and you are ready to start an incredible online experience playing the World Cup or country leagues.

George Hotz

Actually he completed an important milestone a while ago; by accessing the PlayStation 3 kernel; where he found several secrets of this console, but the result of getting it hacked was not completed. Sony did not object any of his tasks, even more they encourage him to take over control of this console; but failure was at the end of his trip.

George said: “It was a cool ride, and I’ve learned a lot about a lot. Perhaps one of these days I’ll do a more formal goodbye.” Which makes us wonder about if this “retirement” it is not actually a defeated soldier who just gave up trying?

Hotz credibility was also questioned a while ago when he distributed a fake photo when he said he just hacked the iPhone 4.

Besides all that, we have to admit: Even though I’m no expert on hacking devices, the work on PlayStation 3 by Sony has been incredible.

The rules are simple: You are the red square starting in the initial green area, and you will need to get to the second green area passing some blue dots, trying of course not to be touched by any of them. Believe you me, the game is HARD… for real, really really HARD. Give it a try here.

They say also that there are 30 levels, but I really want to know these guys who can actually complete the first level.
