Doom for me is the most classic game of all time. Alon Zakai has ported DOOM to the browser via HTML5, thus no Flash required!

Use the normal Doom keyboard controls: For the menu, arrow keys and enter; for the game, arrow keys, control, space and alt (hold to strafe).

Use your browser’s zoom to adjust the screen size (usually control + and control -).

Loading and saving games do work, but only until you leave the page. TODO: Use IndexedDB for persistent storage.

The official statement from Taku Imasaki says “We can confirm that Gran Turismo 5 will not be available this November 2nd, but the game’s release will be coming this holiday season.” But with the number of delays this game already had, there’s absolutely no certainty it will be available any time soon.

The reasons, as always, say that they are fixing some bugs about the game to make it more stable. But the GT fans are not happy, at all with this new decision; we can sense the feelings just by looking those comments in the blog post:

• “This is a joke right?”
• “SCEA literally delays SOCOM 4, Little Big Planet 2, and Gran Turismo 5. In return? PlayStation Move.  Not Cool.”
• “Did you guys hire all those ex-Duke Nukem programmers?” (Good one).

This is the new “Hitler Downfall” parody about GT5 being delayed again. Take not that the first parody was created when the game was postponed from 2009 to 2010.

Does anyone is keeping count about the delays on this game? I know I don’t.

Eurogamer (full review here) thoughtfully strokes its chin while it reflects on the game’s ham-fisted story-telling. Then gives it an eight:

“As a game about the Afghanistan war that does its absolute utmost to avoid being about the Afghanistan war, Medal of Honor is arguably just a shooting gallery spliced with a fairground ride and a solid multiplayer accessory which owes a lot to Bad Company 2. It certainly does little to advance the theory that videogames are responsible enough to tell stories within sensitive contexts.”

Official Xbox Magazine (full review here) suggests the game is flawed in both singleplayer and multiplayer:

“Medal of Honor fails in making an honourable return to the frontline. It’s an inconsistent package that doesn’t fully deliver on the single-player, nor distinguish itself enough in multiplayer to make it an Xbox Live contender. A real shame.“

GamingTrend (full review here) gives the game the highest mark I’ve seen so far, with reviewer Ron Burke admitting he was moved to tears by the ending (for the right reasons, I think):

“While there are some graphical issues and multiplayer polish problems, Medal of Honor gets so much right that it’s hard to ignore.  While the battle between the two modern warfare juggernauts will be settled in multiplayer, the single player stands well enough on its own to justify your purchase.“

Joystiq’s Andrew Yoon (full review here) says what every EA shareholder will be silently dreading: when it comes to multiplayer, Call of Duty just can’t be beaten:

“In any other genre, a stellar single player experience would be enough to garner a whole-hearted recommendation. But it’s impossible to ignore the importance of multiplayer, especially when Medal of Honor‘s primary competitor tends to excel at both. Medal of Honor‘s campaign is an exceptional experience, but the total package simply doesn’t beat Call of Duty.“

“Medal of Honor’s real problem may be Danger Close’s inability to commit to a particular direction for the game. Swinging wildly between the horrors and danger of war and unrealistic action movie moments and hampered by a surplus of boring scripted sequences, not even DICE’s talented multiplayer designers are able to elevate Medal of Honor to something memorable.”

You may think “Ok, this is just a loop game where the same characters appear over and over again” but no, this is an adaptive version of the game, which increases the difficulty according to the skills of the player. This game is in fact a project developed for an Expressive Intelligence study.

The game is created in Java (.jar), and you can download it directly from here. Controls: arrows to move, ’s’ to jump, ‘a’ to run.

Here are some of the specs about this game:

• Upon successful completion of a level, the challenge is increased.
• Faster completion times result in larger increases in difficulty.
• Upon death, the difficulty is decreased based on the amount of progress made by the player.
• If the player is close to the goal upon death, then the difficulty is decreased only a small amount.
• A new level is generated when the player either completes a level or fails to complete a level after three deaths.

Lineage II, as several other games, usually involves the gamers into the story making the plot very attractive. But sometimes seems that the story absorbs their players into some kind of addiction, this is what happened to this fellow who decided that this addiction has responsible and there must be some legal actions to execute.

After playing over 20,000 hours to this game, this person accused NCSoft (creators of Lineage) claiming the company was negligent for failing to “warn or instruct plaintiff and other players of Lineage II of its dangerous and defective characteristics, and of the safe and proper method of using the game.”

This “negligent” behavior of the company had the result of “unable to function independently in usual daily activities such as getting up, getting dressed, bathing or communicating with family and friends.” HA!

But that’s not all, the US District also said: “In light of plaintiff’s allegations, the court finds that plaintiff has stated a claim for both negligence and gross negligence”. This means that they are not dismissing the case so far. HAHA!

FIFA represents, even though some PES fans won’t like it, the most important and complete soccer game available. Providing important and enhanced gaming features, FIFA’s game play is surely one of the best we can find; and now is available for everyone and completely free.

This PC online version is in a beta stage and does not offer the complete suite of features we can find in the full game (which is available for PC, Xbox, PS3, etc); but the gameplay is experience is quite the same.

Includes a different mouse control option for gameplay, saying that is “easy to use but a challenge to master”. You only have to subscribe to the FIFA Online site, download an installer file (1GB) and you are ready to start an incredible online experience playing the World Cup or country leagues.

The Internet is full of little puzzles, games and downright impossible mazes. Windosill is a cool new game that I found which follows along the same lines.

Basically, the game window is really big and each level – or Windosill- consists of a room or scene of sorts. It’s up to you to find the small cube to place above the exiting door in order to proceed. The first couple of levels are easy but at the minute I’m stuck on the level with the big bird! (If anyone gets past this tell me how!)

You can download the full game but at a small price. Other than that, you can play half of the game on-line for free. You can also download the game whether or not you activate the full thing for ‘better performance’.
