I have always wanted to add a simple button which would let users follow me on Twitter. Before now it hasnt been possible, but Tweetmeme have release a Follow Button that is brilliant.

The Standard Button

For the basic follow button please copy and paste the source code below into your site, remembering to replace yourtwitterusername with your actual twitter username.

We also offer a square version of the TweetMeme Follow button, you also need to remember to include the size of the square in pixels to set the size of the square button. If you do not add a size this will default to 32px by 32px.

It read “From orbit: Launch was awesome!! I am feeling great, working hard, & enjoying the magnificent views, the adventure of a lifetime has begun!”.

History has once again been made when the first ever tweet from the International Space Station made it onto Twitter a few days ago, made by TJ Creamer.

“Hello Twitterverse! We r now LIVE tweeting from the International Space Station — the 1st live tweet from Space! :) More soon, send your ?s”

This tweeting from space seems to be getting very popular. There are now quite a few astronauts tweeting from space. Some have hundreds of thousands of followers accumulated in just a few days So here are a few of the best ‘out-of-this-world- tweeters at the minute. I’ll add to this list as more space explorers come into the ‘Twitterverse’

When most uses see a retweet it must be from somebody that they are connected with. Now however, Twitter are testing a new Beta program which changes how retweeting works.

Basically,when a person who you are indirectly connected to, I.e. a friends of a friend, tweets something and a person you’re following retweets that tweet, it will be displayed in your timeline. As a member of this Beta I think this is a great idea. I’m finding that my community has grown (almost doubled) and the retweets are always valuable and worthwhile. This is definitely of increasing the quality and social worthiness of Twitter which I approve of.

So instead of just posting a link saying “hey, follow me”, you could have a cool, professional looking twitter logo or cartoon for people to click on to go to your Twitter profile.

TwitterLogos.com is a collection of free twitter logos submitted by hundreds of graphic designers for our disposal. On the homepage you can see all the latest posts. Most of them are really good. You have the well-known chubby bird but I also found some new faces…or beaks such as a kind of pelican bird, a cheerleading bird and randomly enough, a can of twitter beer.

When you have found the series that you like, simply click on it and download the file. There will be instructions on how to use the Twitter badges in the .zip file.

These are easy to insert into blogging platforms such as Wordpress or into text for a profile on Facebook, MySpace etc…

FriendorFollow allows you to type in your Twitter username and then lets you know who you are following on Twitter, but who’s not following you. The idea is very simple but Im just a huge fan of the design. Check it out!
