Synergy is simple program that does the task of allow you to use one mouse and one keyboard on multiple computers. It also allows you to transfer copy and paste data over too. So if in screen 1 you copy the text “Testing” when you paste in screen 2 it will paste “Testing”. By simply going off the screen it will move your mouse to the next computer there is no need to press any buttons unlike KVM. It is also going to support other draging and dropping features soon such as file drag and dropping. Curently the only problem I have is sometimes on windows 7 when the UAC screen pops up the mouse sometimes stops working.Also it only allows computers around it to be connect sort of. Basiclly what I mean is one computer is 5ft off the ground and the other one is 2ft and to the left there is no way to only have the bottom left corner move your mouse onto the other screen.All in all it is a good program to have handy if you have alot of computers.

How to Download and Burn Hulu Movie to DVD

If you are looking for free great movies or TV shows, then Hulu is what you need, it’s an awesome site for watching TV shows and movies online for free. Hulu only allows you to stream content to your computer, kind of like how YouTube works. And this is a step by step guide to teach you how to download the free hulu movies to computer for free. Further more, you can follow it to burn the movie to DVD to play on your DVD player and TV.

For downloading Hulu movies to computer, you need Hulu video downloader to do the job, it’s totally free and without any virus and spyware. You can download and install it easily.

To start off, you simply copy and paste the URL of the Hulu video you want to download. Before you press the Add button, make sure to click on one of the empty slots in the table below.

Once you hit the Add button, you should get a message a few seconds later with some kind of script error. At this point, click YES and the video should begin to download.

After you finish downloading the movie to computer, you can use Convertxtodvd to burn the movie to DVD. I have tried many DVD burning software, and this one is the best for hulu downloaded movie.

Step1. Download and install convertxtodvd ( you can free download it directly from here, about 16.8MB ), and then run it.

Step2. Load your downloaded hulu movie files into convertxtodvd by clicking “File -> Add video file”. You can add several video clips at one time, ConvertXtoDVD will join and burn the video clips into one movie file.

Menu: You can customize background image, set title font and items font, Change the title name from “My DVD” to what you like, etc. From “Video Preview” window, you will immediately see the effects you are setting.

Step3. Click “Convert” button to start the conversion to build a playable DVD-format video.

Step4. You need to use the “Burn result to DVD” option to burn the converted movie to DVD, or burn it manually. Select “Action -> Burn an already converted project”, choose the VIDEO_TS folder in your working directory. Insert a blank DVD+R(W) or DVD-R(W) in your drive and the burning process should be start automatically in 15 seconds.

Done! Just so easy to burn the downloaded hulu movie to DVD, enjoy it on your home TV.

Raptr is like all the Instant messaging services you use combined into 1 program. It allows you to connect to facebook, xbox, psn, and many more. Although it does not work with skype which I am pretty bummed about because if it did support skype I would probably uninstall skype. It also supports ingame chat which I have not tried out yet though and it also checks what games you have installed and when you play that game it will show you as playing it which is kinda cool. Each game also has its own page like a Facebook page that you can like and write on.All in all it is a good program to have if you have alot of different Instant messaging services.

XbList is a little program that sits in your tray or pinned on you screen that shows you what friends are online and what they are playing. It also supports popup notifications that you can set. You could have a notification every time someone goes online or offline or every time they change games.It is a good program if you like to know who is on Xbox live and who isn’t.The only bad part about this program is that you must login with IE first and that sometimes there is a delay of like 10 seconds but nothing major.

It also detects if it is a website or not and will either gray or ungray Go to Address if it is a website or not. You also have the option to pin in somewhere on your screen as well as save the time and date any text was copyied.It is a nice and easy to use program that sits in your tray. Although it does not support pictures it is a good program to have.

Give Away Of The Day is a website that everyday has one free program to give away. It could be anything from audio converters to security software. Each program is avaible for free for only 1 day or 24 hours. The only bad part about this is you also have to install it within those 24 hours or it will not be free. Sometime they will ofter a program for free for more then one day or offer 2 programs one day but this is really rare. You can also submit your program to go on their site. Nerrot is a simple bit torrent searcher that finds the torrent you are looking for. Nerrot is like a Google I’m feeling lucky search. You simply type in the name of what you are looking for and it will popup a download almost instantly. Nerrot though does not have any other features so it is pretty simple as you can see from the above screen shot. Also although the searches are most of the time rite there is no way of detecting if a torrent is fake because there are no comments. I recommend this to people who are just looking to download torrent really quick.

Tab Scope by Gomita is a Firefox addon the does the basic and easy feature of giving Firefox tabs previews when you pass over it. It also allows you to send mouse click on the tab preview. How to Achieve Server’s High Availability using StarWind

StarWind iSCSI software represents one of the simplest tools available in the market to facilitate the use of high availability –clustering- for your servers and services, like a web server hosting your site, without the need of acquiring expensive and complex hardware to do it.

Achieving high availability for services in organizations it is not an easy task, decisions makers in several companies do not consider this solution as viable considering the costs we have to assume in storage and the new layer of complexity added to our platform. StarWind iSCSI software appears to solve both of these problems.

StarWind provides the possibility to use a simple server with normal hard drives to act as an iSCSI (open Internet protocol) portal which is charge of offering remote storage to machines and easily transform those in high availability clusters for your services. Also, using Windows Server 2008 R2 we will see that the procedure to create a cluster if we are using StarWind iSCSI is really simple.

To create a Windows Server 2008 R2 Failover Cluster using StarWind iSCSI software can be done within 5 steps (the complete guide available here):

Review requirements for the environment: Having one machine acting as an iSCSI server using StarWind software and at least to machines, same hardware baseline, to conform the cluster.
Install StarWind iSCSI SAN software: Easy step, just follow the wizard.
Configure and create storage within StarWind iSCSI: This application has a very intuitive console to administer the resources, so you won’t find much problem completing this.
Install Failover Cluster feature in machines and run validation wizard: The validation wizard will execute several tests to the servers in order to assure us that the cluster will be stable.
Create Windows Server 2008 R2 Cluster: A three-step wizard that, if we executed the validation without any problem, this wizard should complete in the same way.

Twitlogo lets you generate in a simple way, with any text, a logo with all the similarity as in Twitter logo.

It also has some options for you to customize the text you are using: Font size, color and the outline color. After you’ve created the image, you’ll get the link to download the file as a PNG, simple as that.

Even though there is nothing magical about this web app, can be very helpful to create the logo with your Twitter username and placing it in your site.

TeamViewer developed recently the version 6 for their popular remote access software, they’ve included the mobile version as well and now the Android app is available to download.

TeamViewer is one of the most know applications we can use to access computers remotely, their free version is quite complete and with no complexity for installing nor using it. The mobile versions represent a great tool if we need some quick access to remote machines, that’s why they’ve developed the apps for iPhone, iPad and now Android (beta).

Chad Engle had a simple and useful idea for those in love with the new Twitter design: He created a background template which we can use it to design our own backgrounds with the guarantee that it will fit perfectly in the new Twitter.

This background template includes all the necessary info for you to design the background properly, like the “Twitter container” (where we usually find our timeline with all the tweets), and also the reference for all common resolutions possible. Download it directly from here.

Chad makes an important remark about the new Twitter design “Twitter aligns all backgrounds to the left. Also, you can put elements to the far right but be aware that some users will not see them depending on what monitor/resolution they are running”.

I think Twitter decided this “left design” instead of a central to focus the reading on the left pane.

News Feed Reader for Linux

Akregator is a news feed reader available for Linux, where we can access our common feeds from a KDE desktop. Even though it was designed for KDE, Akregator is also available from Ubuntu download center making it possible using in Gnome.

If you usually access and use RSS to get the latest news from sites and blogs, you should know that the way we are retrieving the information is crucial for not missing anything important. If we don’t have a simple GUI in the application we are using, probably we just won’t read anything.

Akregator’s simplicity brings the simple features we may need in a RSS reader: organizing feeds in folders, quick preview, full search possibilities, etc.

Smashing Magazine introduced us a new set of high quality WordPress Themes, all for free. This collection took the best of 2010, and is organized in categories for you to make your pick a lot faster.

The categories we can find are: gallery and portfolio themes, themes for bloggers, e-Commerce WordPress themes, clean themes, magazine-style themes, minimal themes, mobile themes; pre-launch themes; and finally “Themes That Take WordPress Beyond.”

WordPress 3.0.1 Released

WordPress dev team released just recently a new build version: 3.0.1; which does not include any changes in the functionalities but solves errors encountered in the 3.0 version.

We’ve discussed earlier about the big impact generated by WordPress 3.0 and the positive feedback around it; 54 bugs were found on the 3.0 version with only two critical. We can track the errors and tickets generated in WordPress with WordPress Trac.

Since version 2.7, WordPress includes the “Automatic Update” option, which works smoothly. But if you need a manual update you can always follow this guide.

In case you were wondering about the WordPress counter, the number is over 11 million downloads now.

Pick&Zip is another great and free web app to apply on your Facebook profile. Within just a few clicks you can automatically download pictures from Facebook’s profiles.

The usability is quite simple and the look-n-feel of this web app is very similar than the one we see when we are uploading pictures in Facebook. How to use Pick&Zip:

Access the Pick&Zip site
Login to the application using your Facebook account
Browse your friend’s photos or your own.
Select the pictures you wish to download.
Click on “Review & Download” to get the pictures in PDF or a ZIP file.

The image quality is the same one that is shown on Facebook albums.

A great option in this web app is the possibility to select “Find my Pictures”, and retrieves all the images that you were tagged.
