]]> Google recently announced that they would be closing down their Google Video service on April 29. Users will only have until May 13 to download their videos from the Google Video service. There are three ways users can download their videos from the Gooogle Video service:

Use Download Button

There is a download video option that appears next to videos, however this doesnt seem to appear all of the time. If you click on the download link you should be able to save your videos.

Modify the URL

If you don’t have the download option listed above, you can modify the URL to get the download option to work. Just hover over the link “Edit Video Info” and copy the CID from the URL into the following link:

  • http://www.google.com/video/upload/DownloadVideo?cid=XXXXXXX&hl=en

Use Youtube-DL

Youtube-DL is a simple Python application that runs on the command line. The command to run after you install Youtube-DL is something like:

  • python youtube-dl -t google-video-url
