InfoDome: Easily Create Online Databases With This Simple Platform

infodomeHere at Crenk we always try to review the latest startups that are useful, and we have been tipped to look at a new startup called InfoDome. InfoDome aims to help small andmedium sized business develop online databases easily and affectively.

InfoDome lets users create online databases by scratch or by using the startup’s customized templates. Users can import data staight from Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel, FilemakerPro, Word and other applications.

Pricing for InfoDome is very affordable with a free plan option available. With the free option users can have 3 databases with a total of 2,500 total records. Other plans start from $20 per month and go up to $150 per month.

The browser-based platform lets administrators share forms and reports with specific users and features easy to use drag and drop tools to create forms and reports.

The online database market is getting more and more crowded by the day. InfoDome aims to be a cheaper version of Microsoft Access, however I can see it getting a a lot of competition from Blist and DabbleDB.

How big is the market InfoDome is entering? I know that most developers these days used a database like MySQL, but you obviously need some level of knowledge to do so. Thus, InfoDome aims at users who dont have a high level of knowledge, plus they arent for users who have little or no knowledge, because the database needs to build around a solid product. Therefore what is the size of the market they are entering?

TradeVibes Will Now Syndicate Crenk Articles

Crenk has joined forces with TradeVibes which will see all of the Crenk articles directly syndicated into the TradeVibes database.

TradeVibes is an ever growing company database. The companies posts information about vairous companies, and detailing everything from their address to competitors to its management. In each profiles in the right column it allows the user to stay up-to-date with the news about that specific company. The news is currently being gathered from a variety of sources, such as Techcrunch, RWW and now Crenk.

We have previously written about TradeVibes when they came out of beta. They have since made some big improvements and im looking forward to seeing their site improving in the future.

TradeVibes Moves Out of Beta and Is About To Control The Market

TradeVibes is now in a public beta. TradeVibes is a wiki type database about everything technology based, companies, CEOs, funding, acquisitions, news and more. They are in direct competition with Crunchbase, but I can see TradeVibes dominating this market for a long time to come.

As i have been an alpha user, i have been wondering around the site for months now and have seen some good changes and some bad. The company profiles, competitors list and web metrics are very handy. However, the news feature is something that really needs to be improved. At present the users sumbit the news onto the site and there are only 3 news stories shown in the sidebar of the profiles, this should definitely be increased to 10 because of the size of the profiles.

Apart from all that TradeVibes has launched a new Stumbleupon type feature called Discovery. Discovery allows users to to find companies in a sector they want and then the tool runs through the companies in which the users either thumb up or down the company. I dont really see this tool adding too much to the site, but it is a nice novalty feature.
