Pitchfork TV is now live. What are my first thoughts! Well the site itself has a very simple design (as you can see from the image below), it has a main window on the left side to actually show the videos and then a scroll bar on the right for navigation. What does annoy me though is that the scroll bar size is limited on the page. At the moment the site is just like a basic YouTube channel. It doesnt have actual live shows or interviews, it is just basic recorded performances from selected artists and also recordings from live events. So nothing too special here.

Joost has announced a deal with Major League Baseball to show the MLB playoffs. Joost also have a lot of other sports content such as the Indy Car Series and the Soccer Channel. They are slowly building a very nice catalog.

Reuters Labs Launches Search People in Video Feature

Reuters has launched a new video search product that uses facial recognition technology to find specific people within videos. This is an great piece of technology that im surprised Google hasnt implemented in its search function on sites like YouTube. Additionally, the video player features a list of all the people featured in the video and advanced searches allows you to filter results by date or search for videos only on a specific Reuters channel. The video search is powered by Viewdle.
