Arrington Is Not Liking Yahoo

I saw this very interesting post on Techcrunch and Arrington talking about the fate of Yahoo and competition Google. It is quite an interesting response.

Arrington Your Selling Out

It was reported on Friday by Michael Arrington over at Techcrunch that in the deal with Robert Scoble and FastCompany, that Robert had to allow Fast Company to monetize his weblog and give it an overall makeover. I know for a long time now Scoble has always protested about putting advertisements on his personal weblog and with good reason. However, this being sad, his weblog has great potential and really does need a make over at the very least. Im sure that with the relationship between Robert and Fast Company, Robert wont want to put obtrusive advertisements on his weblog and in the long run he will still be in total control of that property. I know im just going to be happy to see a new layout!

Kindle Gets Crunched

I tried to embed the show from Kyte.tv, but when this happened it would only show the most recent video on the Scoble Channel. How annoying! Anyways, here is the link to Arrington on the Kindle and it is weird to see Arrington with a sense of humour! haha.

Very Interesting Links: Panel Discussion at Graphing Social Patterns and Techcrunch Linking History

I have come across a very interesting article on Facebook Apps Monetization. It is from a panel at the Graphing Social Patterns and the panel includes, Michael Arrington (Techcrunch), Jason Calacanis (Netscape, Mahalo, Weblogs Inc) and Robert Scoble (Podtech).

A little off topic, Robert Scoble has posted a link to a very interesting analysis of Techcrunch’s linking history. 1/3 of Techcrunch links are to another Techcrunch site. Hmmm.

PayPerPost Are Getting Ugly, But More The Point I Love A Good Cat Fight.

Michael Arrington over at Techcrunch has post a very interesting article today about PayPerPost and how they reacted to a rejection by a potential employee and also how they are not happy with Arrington at all.

A couple of weeks ago Arrington wrote a post about how PayPerPost CEO Ted Murphy took all employees on an all-expenses-paid offside to Club Med, where they got drunk, inexplicably dressed up as Native Americans (complete with red face paint) and then posted video of the whole racially offensive episode on the web. Normally I like to head out and get quite drunk with a few friends, but on company money and then acting innappropriately, not the best idea for a company that needs to base itself around a very professional image.

Now it is reported that PayPerPost have been very unprofessional towards a potential employee. I am not going to go into all the details, but they can be found on Techcrunch.

An interesting twist however to the whole story is that PayPerPost seem to have turned nasty now on Arrington. One of the PayPerPost VC’s, John Stein at Draper Fisher Jurvetson, has been pitching bloggers to write post saying Techcrunch has gone too far with his criticisms. PayPerPost think they are a very real threat to Techcrunch but I think this cant be further from the truth. Techcrunch as far as Im aware doesnt receive payments for reviews, but this is the key principle behind PayPerPost.

If someone from PayPerPost does read this article I would really like to know how they think they might be a real threat to Techcrunch and their key fundamental business!
