Seen around the world, the Simpsons are iconic, and recently an unauthorized history book was published sharing the history of this amazing series.

The Simpsons: An Uncensored, Unauthorized History tells the story of more than just a dysfunctional family, but more on the story of growth, development, and how one concept has been the mirror for our society and culture. We’re walked through the show’s beginnings on the Tracy Ullman Show to today’s more modern take on the family. The book will interview the show’s creator Matt Groening, and various artists and writers.

Over the past 21 seasons we’ve seen the family take part in just about every possible situation imaginable. Something about the show has captivated audiences and while fan following may not be in a fervor any longer, the show is still relevant as it maintains watch on the pulse of our day to day. Reflected in the show, each of us can find someone to relate to, and while we may remain quiet on certain issue, the Simpsons have tackled a great many issues without holding back.

Retailing for $18, I highly recommend this purchase for the Simpsons fan that looks to delve deeper into the creator’s minds as they continue to create masterful episodes.

80’s Cartoon Geeks Elated With G.I. Joe Complete Collector’s Set

Nothing takes me back to my childhood more than thinking of the old cartoons that I used to watch on Saturday morning or after school. The cartoons of old seem a far off thought considering what is coming out for kids now, but that’s another story. On a more important topic, the cartoons of old are making a comeback for the better and being dressed to a Geek’s pleasure.

G.I. Joe is coming back at us under a massive collector’s edition that is sure to get all the “Joe” fans out there running to make an order. Coming in at a whopping $145 includes the 95 original episodes on 17 highly decorated disks with all PSA’s included, a 1GB dog tag flash drive, comics, a 60 page booklet, some new featurettes, the original 1963 Toy Fair presentation, all the Hasbro commercials…whew…and more.

So what the heck? This is like the warchest of G.I. Joe-ness, talk about mega-Geek’s dream come true. I’m in are you?

Oh and by the way, it comes stored in a real Army footlocker. Yep, placing my order!

Animoto: Video Production Done Simply

Not a Final Cut Pro guru? How about iMovie for the Mac users out there, you a pro on that app? Some people look at putting movies together and just throw their hands up because the difficulty can vary depending on the program of your choice.

Now imagine a site that will simply look at either your MyPhotos folder or photo site of your choice (Flickr, Picasa, etc) and upload the photos you select. Take that a step further and imagine the same app looking through your music folder or having the choice of their own selections to include in your video. Animoto is that application, and it is an amazing app. The ability to create a video with no editing, quick clicks, and short upload times make this a must see and must have application for any user, pro or novice.

By letting Animoto upload photos and music of your choice, it then compiles all your selections, adds transitions, and WA-LA you’ve got yourself a little video that looks like you spent hours working on. It even adds a little MTV-ish like music info in the bottom left hand corner giving the title of the song and the producer’s name.

With the options of making a quick vidoe or long video, how can this be wrong? Word of caution, if you want the longer music video creations you do have to pay into it. The longer video option is great for creating family photo videos, or perhaps you’d like to put a wedding video together to capture the moment, or a wedding anniversary, birthday event, or any other holiday you can think of.
