Shoeperstar … Come On Are You Serious

Register now for a chance to meet up with Jeremy Schoemaker of ShoeMoney and Ted Murphy of Izea at SXSW in Austin, Texas on camera for a special episode of RockStartup.

A blogger will be chosen to fly to Austin for free (within the US only), stay three nights in a hotel, receive a free conference pass and $1,000 spending money.

Now Ted Murphy a great marketeer, but his company dont really rub me up the right way and i cant believe that Shoey has jumped on board. Ted is not overly liked by probably the majority of the blogging community and one of the most recognisable bloggers has started to co-promote a competition with him. I dont think this will really boat well for Shoemoney when he is in contact with some of the other A List blogggers. Shoemoney what the hell are you think? I know any publicity is good publicity, but in some cases it can hurt your creditability.

Its just a fun time. When you say it hurts my credibility … credibility as what? a blogger? lol… If my blog died tomorrow it would be one of the best things that ever happened to me.

I said the same thing when I saw the shoeperstar thing …. I was like wtf? this is crazy. Maybe this will be the thing that pushes it over the top and kills the blog and I can get back to concentrating more on our core businesses.

Yeh i understand totally that it will just be a lot of fun, but there is a small possibility less people will read your blog due to not know if what your saying is straight from you or totally influenced for just your benefit.

I also understand that the blog isnt what drives you and it is not going to make you rich in either the short or long terms. It is as you said just a bit of fun. I really dont want to see the blog influenced, your opinions and your opinions only.
