Rubicon Project is now in public beta and has even named their product, Automatic. Automatic is their ad network optimiser and for this service they will be charging 10% of your ad revenue, but say they can increase your CPM and fill rates. We will see if this works! For a while now I have been in their private beta, and im very curious to see if their service actually works and by how much.

Automatic from Rubicon Project doesn’t work right. It is buggy and never worked correctly on the websites where I placed code. Two of the sites never worked properly, one worked but ignored my preferences. What I got was a cheap, blinking neon ad that distracted my blog readers. I had flickering and other types of ads blocked but got everything I blocked instead of the other way around.

Rubicon Project had a nice service guy who tried to help me but to no avail. The code just didn’t work. I played around with it for weeks and emailed many times. Finally I understood it wasn’t my error. Evidently they fixed some of their issues, but mine and smaller sites like it got left in the dust.

I was patient for weeks…finally today I cancelled the service. I’ll stick with Google…
