Linkedin in Talks With News Corp: Murdoch On The Prowl Again

It has been reported this morning on Techcrunch UK that Linkedin might be in talks with News Corp about a possible buyout in January 2008. Mike says that his source is very reliable and close to the situation, so this could be some very big news indeed.
In January LinkedIn, which has been profitable since March 2006, announced a $12.8 million round of financing led by Bessemer and the European Founders Fund, bringing the total raised since launch to$26 million. The company had something over $10 million in revenue in 2006, and said they’ll do substantially more than that in 2007.
Murdoch is a very smart cookie when it comes to buys at the right time. He purchased Myspace back in 2005 for only $580 million, most people said then it was overpriced but look at it now and how much they are trying to valuate Facebook for. Stay tuned!
