How Do I Get Listed In The DMOZ Directory? What Do I Need To Do?

For a long time now we have been producing what I believe is great content here on Crenk. That being said we are still missing from a lot of major site databases on the internet and Im wondering why!

DMOZ.org is the Open Directory Project. The Open Directory Project is the largest, most comprehensive human-edited directory of the Web. It is constructed and maintained by a vast, global community of volunteer editors.

Dmoz is owned by Netscape which now is owned by AOL. So that all being said Im finding it strange that Crenk is still missing from this directory. Is Dmoz still in operation? Do people actually use this service? Additionally, I know how to get listed in Dmoz, but doesnt matter how many times I apply nothing happens.

Submissions to DMOZ take up to a year now to get live because their backlog is massive. Partly because of people like you, who resubmit their sites more than once ; )

Every time you resubmit, you end up at the end of the queue because their software thinks that you resubmit new, updated data.

patience is a virtue with DMOZ

@Supaswag Well that is just pathetic. I only resubmitted once, and that was about 8 months ago. I really dont think anyone actually uses DMOZ anyways. If it takes them a year to update then how affective can it be? It cant!

noone uses DMOZ anymore but a listing on DMOZ is still taken as a very authoritative acredditation of any website by the search engines. You probably already know that anyhow but keep trying.
