Highest Paying Verticals for CPM Advertising
Here at Crenk we have been keeping a very close eye on online advertising and how it all works and runs. Adify has been keep an even closer eye on the industry and here are their latest findings.
Except Food, Entertainment and Real Estate, the CPM rates for display ads have declined across industries in the last three quarters which is quite good news for online advertisers but not so good news for web publishers and bloggers.
For some unknown reason, this Adify Report excludes the Technology sector which also commands high CPM rates (the CPM rates for tech industry were around $15 in Q2 2009).
CPM = cost per thousand ad impressions.

What about travel? Arent those cpms the highest??
There are certain minimum requirements for categories making it into this report regarding number of distinct advertising campaigns in the category, number of networks in the category, and number of sold impressions in the category. Travel nor technology were two of four verticals that did not meet those requirements, and so were not included in the report.
This is bad news for me, I literally just started using some CPM ads about a week ago, I guess I picked the wrong time to start, nonetheless I’ll still continue and hope rates eventually go up or at least return to normal.
CPM rate seem to be pretty varied.
That does seem to be the case.
Agreed
