Gawker Has A New Managing Editor, Nick Denton?

Nick Denton is reported to be coming the new Gawker.com managing editor on January 2nd. Nick has put together 14 infamous blogs that each have their own destinct brand and style. For a while now these brands have not been making their way from blogs to a more traditional news operation. Thus, Nick now thinks he is the man to help make that process smoother.

Towards the end of November three of Gawker’s top editors quit and a job was placed for a new managing editor. Nick didnt like any of the candidates so within days he decided to name himself as managing editor. Nice move Nick! We will see if you are actually right for the job or if you are just too scared to give anyone else a shot.
