Facebook Is It The Way Forward?

Im really sick about hearing about everything that is going on over at Facebook this year. Hence, I cant actually believe I am going to write about them, but I am. After a huge rise in 2007 where do you think Facebook will end up in 2008?

As you can see from this graph provided by Alexa, Facebook has had a huge growth over the last year in comparison to Myspace and Friendster.

Facebook is just a really simple social network with a very clean interface that can adapted in so many ways. This allows the company to be very flexible in implementation of new services. Facebook is currently having a great deal of legal issues when it comes to their new advertising platform, Beacon. Hopefully this wont affect their grow or profitability too much at all, if it does it could drop their current valuation of 15 billion. Personally, I think this valuation is ridiculous and I cant believe Microsoft actually think it could be valuated at that price.

Im also very interested to see where Nick expects Facebook to be in 2008! Either at the top of the tree, steady or in decline, and why.
