This is Crenk’s 1000th post. Crenk has been running for a bit over a year and a half and in this time we have produce hopefully some great articles that our readers really enjoyed! In this post I thought I would just share some basic site stats with our readers.

In the first year it was very much just a hope for me in which I posted one article a day if I was lucky. Recently we have been trying to post more and more articles that will really help our readers find new, interesting and useful startups and applications. In the next few months we hope to bring in some more writers full time on the site and push it to the next level even quicker. Here at Crenk we have been on Twitter since the start, but we have never really tried to push our Twitter account too much, we just let the growth happen organically. However, Im really wanting to try to build a community around our twitter account. At the moment we are getting very close to 1,500 twitter followers. I know this is nothing compared to Ashton Kutcher, but then again im not a movie star (well at the moment, lol).

Here at Crenk we have just added a new directory to our site. The directory is for web applications. Every few days we will be adding more and more sites to the directory. Each site in the directory has a brief description and a linkback to their site. We have broken down the directory into 19 different categories including music, photo, mobile, search, bittorrent and more.
To start the directory we have added only 13 of the most popular websites around, but stay tuned for more coming very soon.
If you have a website you would like to see added to the directory, just head over to the directory and at the bottom of every page you will see a suggest a link option, just click on that and suggest something for us to add. Help us build the best web apps directory on the web.
Here at Crenk we use Twitter on a daily basis and really try to interact with our readers. Yesterday we followed our 2,000 account on Twitter and then I noticed after hitting this milestone that we aren’t able to follow any more users. I wasn’t really too sure why this was happening so I posted a quick message on Twitter asking people why I cant follow any more people, and @richmulholland and @Neil_duckett replied to let me know that Twitter has a 10% rule once you reach 2,000.
Therefore if I want to follow more people on Twitter I need my followers to reach at least 1820 followers. Thus, I need your help! Please follow us on Twitter (http://twitter.com/crenk) and help us spread the word and get other people to follow us also.
Today we have added a new feature on Crenk that we hope will help many other blogs promote their great content. This new feautre is called Community News. The Community News section can be found in our sidebar and it is basically a submission process that lets any user advise us of a great blog post.
The articles that will be shown in our Community News section will be related to startups and will either be great start lists or reviews. We hope that by adding links into our Community News section other sites will get some great promotion and traffic, while at the same time receive a linkback from our site.
Submissions to the Community News section is completely free and only takes a minute to submit. So please feel free to help us promote some of the best content on the web.
This forms is for the Crenk Community to submit some of there favourite News articles from around the web. Each news article will be approved by our admin and then placed at the top of the achives page and into our sidebar.

I have been looking at our advertising page over at BuySellAds and have been wondering why stats over their estimates only 18,000 impressions when my Google Analytics says 51,000? I know with BuySellAds it take sometime to build up the stats, but our ads have been on the site for over a month and they still havent increased up to its real level.
Here at Crenk we have reached another milestone. Admittedly it isn’t the biggest milestone in the world but oh well. Crenk now has over 1000 followers on Twitter!!
