Woman Claims She Now Owns the Sun

Angeles Duran, 49 year-old woman from Spain, said to daily El Mundo that she registered the Sun as her property last week, with the presence of notary.

And how this woman came with the idea for claiming the sun? Well, when she read that in last September there was a guy who registered the Moon and other planets the idea came to her head. And additionally to that, there’s an international agreement which states that no country may claim ownership of a planet or star, but it says nothing about individuals.

“There was no snag, I backed my claim legally, I am not stupid, I know the law. I did it but anyone else could have done it, it simply occurred to me first.” said Angeles.

The official document where Duran is taking ownership of the Sun, declares the person as: “owner of the Sun, a star of spectral type G2, located in the center of the solar system, located at an average distance from Earth of about 149,600,000 kilometers.”

And after this, of course, she’ll be charging to anyone who uses the Sun. But wait, not all the money will be for her, she’ll spend only 10% of the funds for herself.

The good news is that I guess we now have someone to sue about skin cancer.

Shadow Guardian, Uncharted-like Game available for iPhone and iPad

GameLoft developed a project that seems very interesting, “Shadow Guardian”. Which seems a game quite similar than the one of the most popular in the last years, “Uncharted”.

Here’s a short video about it:

Even though we can never compare iPod/iPad games with PlayStation 3 or XBOX, since that GameLoft completed a good game.

What do you say? Is this game you would play in your iPhone/iPad?

Facebook and Twitter arrive to Adidas

Adidas Superstars represents one of the most popular models of the German company; and also is one of the most used today as vintage models of shoes.  And now, for their 35 anniversary, they are preparing the Facebook and Twitter models.

Honestly I’m not quite convinced about all the “Facebook” included in this model, sounds a bit too much. On the inside they’ve also included the following “Facebook is a social utility that connects you with the people around you” and “Making the world open and connected”.

The Twitter model seems a bit better; they’ve included the Twitter bird logo and the original color used by the micro-blogging web app.

Facebook Offers Better Jobs than Google

Glassdoor, company which collects information about employees in different companies anonymously and voluntarily, presented a report saying that people working in Facebook are not only paid more but also the social network offers a better work environment.

Here’s the rating for most important companies salaries in the software engineer category:

Google offers an average annual salary of $98K and Facebook for the same jobs is giving $110K, making this the most important salary around all companies; Cisco, Yahoo and Apple appears right after Facebook.

But that’s not all, work climate is an important factor in every job; and Facebook makes a difference in this area as well.

Based upon a 5-point scale, Facebook scores 4.6 as the top company in work environment; Google appears third with 3.9 (AOL and Apple appear fourth and fifth). And, surprisingly or not, HP offers the “worst” work climate raked with 2.7.
