Salesforce Acquire DimDim Web Conferencing and Close Down All Free Accounts

It is now official, Salesforce has acquired Dimdim. Dimdim is an Indian web conferencing company and it was acquired by Salesforce this morning for around $31 million in cash. RWW reported rumors that Salesforce.com would acquire Dimdim in November, but this is the first confirmation we’ve seen from either company.

The Dimdim web site now allows only existing customers to login, with a note that new registrations are not being accepted. The open source community edition is still available for download from Sourceforge.
