Whatever Happened to the Notion Ink Adam iPad Competitor
Back in February 2010 Notion Ink launched the Adam tablet, which was supposed to compete head on with the iPad. We are now reaching the end of 2010, so I was wondering what actually happened to the Notion Ink Adam tablet.
The Notion Ink Adam tablet blows the iPad out of the water on specs, but why hasnt it made it across to the USA and UK?
The Notion Ink Adam tablet has been sold out on the website for a long time. We have found it very difficult to get in touch with them and see how the product is performing.

I’m not sure you understand. The product was open for preorders shipping worldwide. So many UK and US consumers bought the preorders, and the product is unreviewed because it hasnt actually shipped yet. The earliest ship date was Jan. 9.
There are video demos of a few applications on the official blog notionink.wordpress.com
Are you serious? First of all, it has only been sold out for about a week – these are pre-order sellouts. The device is not shipping until next month. Secondly, have you not checked pretty much every other tech blog out there, and even the NI website? They are posting a new video of the Adam in action every single day.
What they said.
Also, I seriously doubt NI ever imagined ‘head to head’ competition with the iPad. It’s going to have a completely different demographic. The design-aesthetic is totally different (Rohan speaks openly of wanting to make a “more masculine” device).
Patience, grasshopper. They’ll be at CES. You’ll see it then and at that time the “Early Access” recipients will probably have their NDA handcuffs taken off. (for the “but they’re not registered!” trolls, NI — like many companies — will be there as a guest of one of their partners, probably nVidia.)
It’s already been said i nthe comments above, but the Adam hasn’t been sold out for that long, and the pre-order was open globally.
Notion Ink is at CES right now showing off the Adam Tablet. It has been covered by slashgear, engadget, crunchgear and more.
