Cyclus Recharger: Amazing Human Powered Spring Loaded Gadget Charger

I love the idea of having solar or human powered gadgets. However, in theory it works a lot better than in practice. The Cyclus recharger by designer Satoshi Yanagisawa is a charger that I really hope works as well in practice as it does in theory. The charger is shaped like a light bulb, with the cord input at the bottom. After plugging in the gadget that’s running low on battery power, you just twist the top of the bulb around and around.
The Cyclus recharger is completely spring driven, so the owner doesn’t have to keep twisting to keep the device charging. According to the designer, a simple twist gives 30 minutes of charging power.
I’m simply loving this design, I wish they could send over a prototype so we could do a full hands on review.
