This is a very simple application that I would like to use on Windows 7. Anyways, for Ubuntu you can install the new real-time sunlight wallpaper. The real-time sunlight wallpaper retrieves an image from the internet and sets it as your wallpaper every 30 minutes.

Open the terminal and run the following commands

$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:realtime.sunlight.wallpaper/rsw
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install gtk-sunlight

Launch from: Applications->Accessories->Real-time Sunlight Wallpaper
