BBC Announce Dedicated News and Sports iPhone Applications

The BBC announced they will be releasing standalone iPhone applications for their news and sport content this April with Blackberry and Android versions to follow.

Most people will say that these additions are well overdue, but it is good to see the BBC adopting new media and trying to spread their services to as many people as possible across a multitude of devices.

The Sports application will be online just in time for the World Cup in South Africa this June, and will feature live video and audio commentary from the worlds largest sporting event.
