Playstation 3 Exploit Code Released by Infamous Hacker
Since the iPhone came out, people have been hacking it. Either for fun or to exploit others. One name which stands out from that crowed is George Hotz – a hacking celebrity. Now, he has turned his powers over to the humble PS3. Oh… and he’s also released the exploit coding he used to hack the PS3. Mayhem will ensue in the hacking community, I’m sure.
He says he’s only tested it with Firmware 2.4.2 but assumes that it will work with all firmware versions of the PS3. Also, a full comprehensive guide is rumoured to be in the works which will help those who aren’t too familiar with hacking and coding.
Gaming sites such as Euro Gamer and Joystiq are a little
skeptical of how water-tight his claims are. And I agree. Until we start to see some result of this hacking hitting the gaming community we won’t know what can really be done with his exploit code.
