A lot of us who were kids in the 80′s can remember He-Man and the Masters of the Universe very vividly. Say what you want about it, but much like Transformers and G.I. Joe, the cartoon series is a cultural phenomenon. Fans young and old still seriously collect the ancient relics of the 80′s world of Eternia. He-Man led an entire generation of young fans to look within to find their own personal power of Grayskull. And, for me, it’s no surprise that these artists dug deep to find their own power to create some very majestic pieces.

Now before the geek in all of us rejoices in seeing some familiar faces, think back to your own visions of what we thought He-Man would look like if we had the power to create the world he lived in. These artist renditions run a wide gamut of styles. All of them creative, thought not all of them favorites of mine. While we may all have our personal tastes, the gallery is definitely not to be missed.

If you live anywhere near the L.A. area, you need to go to Gallery 1988 and check out the art display while it’s up (until January 29th). The art studio is transformed into the interior of Castle Grayskull to create an atmosphere most suited to looking at these artistic treasures, bringing them to life.

Under the Influence: He-Man and the Masters of the Universe is a must see for the geek and 80′s cartoon fan out there! Make sure to scroll down to view the entire gallery.
