Google Offers 200GB Storage Deal with Eye-Fi Card

eye-fi

Google has been known to launch projects with some amazing buzz. Recently we’ve seen the release of Google Wave and Google Voice, both of which created a great amount of buzz, and both requiring the invitations everyone wanted. Most recently, in an effort to push their Picasa web based photo application, Google has decided to offer customers a little incentive.

With the purchase of 200 GB of storage on Picasa ($50 which renews annually), Google is offering a free Eye-fi card for your SDHC cameras. This nifty little addition makes it worth taking those pictures as it will automatically send them to sites like Picasa as long as you’re in a wi-fi area. Even if you’re not, the card itself can store up to 4GB of photos which will automatically leave the card and post as soon as you enter a wi-fi capable hot spot.

The amount of space offered at such a low price can post up to 100,000 photos, depending on the original resolution. Nevertheless that’s still a lot of photo taking. The commitment requires a year, but after that year downgrade if necessary, but the value of the card alone comes in at $70. So consider it a steal and leave a comment if you go through with the deal, we’d like to hear your feedback.
